Top 5 Holiday Candles

Posted in Lifestyle
on November 14, 2016

For those who don’t know, I love everything related to the holiday season, which also includes all the amazing seasonal candles from Bath and Body Works. So naturally around this time of year, I take advantage of the November deals for candles, and make sure to make a decent online purchase for the holidays. While I’m waiting for my package, I wanted to share my favorite candles for the holiday season.

1| Winter

When you read that there are clementines in this candle, you’re probably going to think it won’t be a good mix. But I promise that the this candle smells of everything Christmas that you will love. I personally love the notes of white woods and pine needles.

2| Fresh Balsam

The smell of this candle reminds me so much of being at the spa, which is perfect for a time of year that can be a little stressful with all the to-do lists for the holidays. Notes of balsam, cedarwood and eucalyptus blend together to create a winter, spa-like aroma in your home.

3| Marshmallow Fireside

This is personally my favorite candle from Bath and Body Works from their holiday collection, and it has been for quite some time. I’m a person who loved marshmallow, and the combination of it with vanilla and amber notes brings together a perfect scent for winter.

4| Frosted Cranberry

If you’re more into the sweeter scents are the holidays, I would definitely recommend Frosted Cranberry. This candle is straight-forward with notes of cranberry and apple notes. However, it isn’t too sweet of a scent with two fruits in the blend.

5| Spiced Gingerbread

I was first worried about this candle (which I don’t remember from last year) because I thought it would be too strong with nutmeg and cinnamon scents. But I am so happy to say that the vanilla notes makes the candle much more appealing and a little less overwhelming to smell. Trust me, you’ll want to pick this scent up for the holiday season!

5 Winter Looks I’m Lusting For

Posted in Fashion
on February 3, 2016

Now that it’s February, you might be realizing that you’re wearing your “winter uniform,” which consists of leggings, bulky sweaters, and the same pair of boots.

It can be difficult to find motivation to want to look presentable during the cold months in the beginning of the year. However, it is possible to stay comfortable and look chic—all while braving cold temperatures.

Today, I’m sharing five winter looks I’m lusting for. Sometimes, searching outfit inspiration on Pinterest helps me feel motivation to try new looks. Hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration in this post!

What I love about this look is that it has staple pieces we all own: a long-sleeve, T-shirt, jeggings, booties and a comfy sweater to layer over the shirt. It doesn’t take much effort to pull off this look, but it looks presentable if you’re out and about.

All black outfits will always be a favorite look for me. It immediately gives off an alluring, edgy vibe (even if that’s not how you define your style!) It’s fun to mix it up with different styles you don’t wear often. I think these black leather pants are a necessity along with that hat!TDD-Tuesday-4872Source

Want an easy way to look cute, but feel like you’re wrapped in a blanket? Throw on your favorite sweater dress! I love the neutral colors in this look. Pairing the dress with over-the-knee boots is the perfect way to complete this winter outfit!

Cream, ivory, and white hues are unappreciated during the winter months. I feel like everyone defaults to black where there are other neutral options to complete your outfits! I love the bulky, cream sweater with the black and white skirt. It’s an unexpected pair, but they works perfectly together.

Bold shoes are an obvious “do” for winter fashion. Why stick to the same pair of black boots when you can explore so many other options. Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with your footwear. I also love the colors in the jacket against the black ensemble!

Necklace: Windsor

Even though it’s tempting to sit inside and watch episodes on Netflix all weekend long, you can still appreciate date nights during winter. Here are a few suggestions when you’re looking for a date night idea!

One of my favorite date nights is simply going out for a movie, and grabbing a drink and splitting appetizers together after the movie. It gets you guys out of the house, but it won’t break the bank.

Another idea is to bundle up and go for a walk. Or you can pack goodies in your car, and drive to a scenic location for a winter picnic in the car. Taking time to appreciate nature in winter, and relaxing with someone you love is all you need for a successful winter date night.

Do you love winter activities? You can always take time to go ice skating, sledding or skiing as a group date! Make sure to bring extra hot chocolate and warm clothes for the day!

If you’re both hockey fans, you can support your hometown team at a hockey game. Even if you’re not a huge sports fan, hockey is easy to follow and will definitely get your adrenaline pumping.

There are many other winter date night opportunities. All it takes is a little motivation to move from your comfy couch!

What I Wore: Family Reunion

Look Details:

Dress: Francesca’s

Jacket: Macy’s

Tights: JCPenney

Bag: Michael Kors

Belt: LOFT

Booties: Old Navy

Every January, I always look forward to getting together with my father’s side of my family for a family reunion. We do this after the holidays, so more people are able to clear their schedules. I was able to catch up with family that I haven’t seen since the last reunion. Needless to say, it’s always nice to see family and catch up after a long year.

I was inspired with an edgy look for this occasion. I wear black clothes more during winter than any other time of the year. I think it’s a simple, classic color and works well for any occasion. However, I will say this look is a little outside my comfort zone. I never go for edgy looks. If you take a look into my everyday style, I’m all about classic pieces that are also comfortable and versatile. When I purchased these pieces, I never thought I’d wear all of them in one look.

Summer 2015 was the year I decided to really step out of my fashion comfort zone. I wanted to try different styles and trends and incorporate them into my wardrobe. I plan to continue this throughout 2016 as well! Life is too short not to experiment with fashion! Let me know what you think of this look in the comments!

What’s in/out of your fashion comfort zone? How can you step out of your fashion comfort zone more in 2016? Make sure to leave a comment below!

New Beauty Goodies & At-Home Spa Night Tips for Winter

Ocean Salt: Lush, $21.95

This is my go-to product for any areas that have been feeling more dry due to the winter air. This is also a great pick if you want to exfoliate your legs before shaving! You’ll get a clean shave with this scrub. A little goes a long way!

Bûche De Noël: Lush, $12.95

This face and body cleanser was intimidating at first because it has a soft, crumbling texture. However, it’s one of my favorite products I’ve used from Lush. The scent is incredible, and it leaves my skin feeling radiant and fresh after a long day.

Butterbear: Lush, $4.95

If you’re a fan of the Butterball bath bomb, you’ll love this bath bomb as well. It has the same scents of cocoa butter and vanilla to leave your skin moisturized and revitalized. It’s perfect to wake up your skin from harsh weather in winter.

Bot Bath Bomb: Lush, $3.95

If you struggle with sleeping, this is a great bath bomb for you! With lavender essential oils, this bath bomb will calm your mind and relieve your troubles. I recommend mixing this with epsom salts to really unwind after a stressful week.

Sephora Face & Eye Masks: Sephora, $6-sheet mask, $5-eye mask.

I’ve been using these sheet masks from Sephora for months now. They’re a necessity for a spa night, or a pick-me-up treat for my face. Each mask serves different purposes like reducing acne, moisturizing, and more! You’ll love these masks and get hooked after one use.

Satin Smooth Hand & Foot Pack: Satin Smooth: Folica, $5

Before you treat your hands and feet to some much needed TLC, why not try a “mask” to moisturize? What I love about these products is that they slip on like socks or gloves. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, and feel the difference in your hands and feet.

Tips For A Winter, At-Home Spa Night:

Set the mood:

Bust out the candles, play some relaxing music in the background, and pour yourself some wine. If you don’t treat yourself to a pamper evening often, this is the one night where you can fully relax. You deserve feel relaxed and refreshed.

No tech distractions:

Try not to scroll through social media or snap a pic of your spa night on Instagram while you’re in the bath. Instead, pick up a book you’ve been longing to read or write in a journal. We need that break from our phones and a spa night is the best time for a tech break.

Don’t rush:

I’m guilty of this. I struggle to fully relax because I feel like I’m pressed for time, and I need to rush with my spa night as quickly as possible. I rush through my “me” time when I shouldn’t worry about a time constraint. There’s no rush and remember take the time you need.
