Posted in Lifestyle
on December 12, 2016

Another month means that I can share what looks I’m lusting for this month. December fashion is a lot like late-fall fashion: tons of layers and a lot of different accessories. I love being able to share what has been inspiring my style, so grab a cup of coffee (or wine) and feel little bliss as we talk about these lovely outfits.

Things I’m currently loving, nude details like this blanket scarf and over-the-knee boots; and finding simple ways to elevate your comfortable outfit! Who says that leggings and a flowy top can’t look fashionable and stylish? What’s not to love about this look?

Layers are everything in December. In Pennsylvania, I live off of cold-weather necessities like big sweaters. But, I love how this outfit takes a bulky sweater, and adds a more feminine vibe with the long-sleeved, white blouse. It adds a unique, unexpected element to the look.img_7653

I’m absolutely L U S T I N G  for this long, grey cardigan. I can imagine that it feels like wearing a blanket outside, but it’s adorable and perfectly acceptable to wear in public, especially for winter. Layering this with a bulky, turtleneck sweater dress only makes this look more complete.

I don’t know why but I’ve been so interested in leopard-printed shoes recently, but I’ve been on the hunt of pair of them for awhile now. This outfit only motivates my drive to find a pair for myself I also love how they look with a bold, red sweater. I’m a big believer that leopard and red look stunning together. Personally, I think this outfit would be perfect for a holiday party.

winter-fashion-camel-coat-scarfPom-pom hats are totally in style, and I’m loving it. Whether you’re on the hunt for a perfect Christmas tree, or you’re out and about shopping for everyone on your list; this outfit is perfect for all your holiday errands. I love the pops of blue and green against the neutrals in this look. It’s a simple outfit that is versatile for December.

5 Minimalist Outfits for Autumn

Posted in Fashion
on October 17, 2016

Minimalism is something I’m learning and incorporating more into my every day life. So far, I’ve been loving every minute of it. I feel less stressed, more focused, and happier with adopting some of the minimalist habits.

One area I’ve been focusing on the last few months is my style. Last month, I shared my September edition of “5 Looks I’m Lusting For,” which featured more neutral-only and neutral-based looks. If you knew me five years ago, I was obsessed with bright colors. There was actually a period in time where I didn’t own any black. (I was young and stupid, don’t judge—haha!) Flash forward to present day, and more than 60 percent of my wardrobe contains neutrals.

I want to share my progression of style, and where I see my style going in the future with this minimalist mindset. So, I’m sharing five minimalist outfits you can wear for Autumn! I hope you find a little inspiration from these looks, and can incorporate them into your your wardrobe for the season.

Make sure to leave a comment below telling me about your personal style, and how it has evolved over the years!

There’s nothing better than bulky sweaters, cute coats, and booties for the season. Aside from all the trendy pieces, it’s chic because of the neutral colors. People think minimalists only wear black and white, but you can wear colors and still be a minimalist. As long as you find a color palette that works for you and your style, and only have essentials that you can mix with several outfits, you are on the right track!

25 Great New Outfits For Your Winter Lookbook - Style Estate -Everything about this look is #FALLFASHIONGOALS. I’m not going to lie, everything about this makes me fall in love with the idea of dressing minimally. I love an all-black outfit with the addition of the contrasting color to make things pop. In this case, the light, nude heels and coat paired together makes the entire outfit more vibrant yet classic. 739c48c51e76887fd2e9d12192349068I love to throw in a wildcard option that’s out of my comfort zone. As a working woman, I don’t think I could ever pull off a dressy element like a midi skirt and pair it with casual sneakers like the photos above. But, never say never. I love this look, and I like that there’s a contrast from professional and comfortable mixed together. Who knows, maybe I’ll rock some sneakers with a skirt for this season.8fcf2e39aae7e67b381c2b89fd39cb38“Doe she only like camel-colored coats?!” No, definitely not. But I will say I think they’re an amazing color to pull off during Autumn, so I might as well show you some options while you’re reading through this post. Again, an all-black outfit for the base of the outfit paired with another neutral like camel makes the outfit pop! I’m definitely in the market for a camel coat after writing this post.

Adding little pops of color and patterns can pull the entire look together. I love the addition of a burgundy bag with these fun, leopard flats. This adds a little excitement to a simple, comfortable look. I’ve been on the hunt for leopard flats, and hoping I can find some as cute as these above!

September Wish List

Posted in Fashion
on September 19, 2016

bbbb91916_septwishlist

Can anyone else believe we’re almost through the month of September? Since the fall season is almost here, I thought it would be fun to share some items on my fashion wish list for fall. Make sure to leave a comment sharing what’s on YOUR wish list for the month!

Long, Open-Front Cardigan: $25

I’ve been going through my closet, and I need more gray sweaters in my life. I’ve noticed that long, open-front cardigans have been everywhere on Pinterest and Instagram for fall. You know I’m going to jump on this trend because I love cozy and comfortable looks.

Tipped Bow Blouse: $49.50

I’ve been loving simple, clean-cut blouses that are perfect for any time of year. This cream blouse looks perfectly tailored. I’m hoping to invest in basic blouses like this one that are good quality because they will last a long time.

Crown Vintage Pilot Over-The-Knee Boots: $79.95

I don’t know why I haven’t jumped on the over-the-knee boot trend, but this is one of the top items on my current wish list. I’m all about wearing boots from September to March, so I’m hoping to add a pair in my shoe collection as soon as possible. I’m in love with these black suede

Striped Poncho Sweater: $79.50

It wouldn’t be a fall-inspired wish list without a sweater. I love that this sweater from Loft is a mix of a standard sweater with a poncho-style incorporated in it as well.

Plaid Midi Shirt Dress: $34.94

You can’t go wrong with a comfortable dress that works perfect for fall and winter. That’s why I am in love with this plaid midi shirt dress from Old Navy. Also, their prices are are incredible if you’re on budget. (But let’s be real, who isn’t looking to save some money?)

What clothing pieces are on your wish list right now? Make sure to leave a comment below!

10 Things to Remove From Your Closet Right Now

Posted in Fashion
on August 10, 2016

BB8816_10 Items to Remove from Your Closet Right Now!2016 has been the year that I have removed anything and everything from my life. I don’t want to say that I have gone full-blown minimalist, but I have been actively trying to remove items from my life every single month. Since the beginning of the year, I have gotten rid of more than half of my closet. If you count clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes, etc., I have easily donated more than 500 pieces altogether.

This is really says a lot about how badly I needed to make a change in my life; and I couldn’t be happier with the progress I have made this year. That’s why I’m sharing 10 things you can remove from your closet right now, so that you can add a little bliss back to your closet and life!

1| Anything That Doesn’t Bring You Joy

There are several things hanging in your closet right now that you don’t love. These are the first items you need to remove from your closet as soon as possible. Why waste space in your closet on items that you truly don’t love and enjoy wearing? Either donate these pieces to charity or give it to a friend who will use it.

2| Anything That Doesn’t Fit Your Body

I used to have a bag that was essentially for clothes that, “If I lost 15 more pounds this will *maybe* fit.” Yes, I’m serious. I was that convinced that I needed to keep those pieces of clothing because they might fit again some day. The reality is that my body when I was 15 years old is completely different than my body at 22 years old. And that’s okay! Donate or sell the items that don’t fit.

3| Anything That Doesn’t Fit Your Style

I’ve been changing my personal style more and more throughout 2016. I’ve been removing more trendy, bright-colored pieces and focusing more on purchasing neutral colors that can be paired with several outfits. If you’re in the process of changing your style, remove anything that doesn’t fit your current style or the style you hope to have.

4| Anything You Haven’t Worn in a Year

My tip for you is to place all your hangers on your closet rack facing backwards. Every time you wear an item from your closet, flip the hanger around the proper way to show that you’ve worn that item. When a year is up, anything you haven’t worn that year—toss it, donate it or sell it. If you haven’t worn it in a year, you probably won’t wear it again.

5| Anything That’s Damaged

I had a skirt hanging in my closet for well over a year that was ripped at the seam that I never fixed or replaced. It was actually so long that I wore it completely forgetting that it was damaged to begin with. If you know you’re not going to repair the item, you may as well toss it out because you won’t wear it unless it’s fixed.

6| Anything You Wouldn’t Repurchase

This is a question I have asked myself more and more that I’ve been going through my closet every few months. “Would I repurchase this item if I was out shopping today?” I can’t tell you how many dresses and shoes I have donated due to this question. Maybe two years ago, that romper was perfect for your lifestyle and now it’s not. That’s okay! As long as you’re being honest about your answers in the process.

7| Anything That Makes You Feel Bad About Your Appearance

You know the skirt that isn’t flattering or the top that makes you feel uncomfortable if you’re not sitting perfectly? Whatever the case may be, donate, sell or toss any item that doesn’t make you feel your very best when you wear it. It’s important to feel comfortable and confident in the clothes that you wear.

8| Anything You’re Keeping For Sentimental Reasons

I kept a Bridesmaid dress I wore for my sister’s wedding back in 2009. Yes, 2009. I knew very well that I was never going to wear this dress again, but yet I kept it because I felt bad about getting rid of it. “But it was my sister’s wedding!?” Let’s be honest, no one is going to have hard feelings because you donated a dress you wore seven years ago. When it doubt, donate it.

9| Anything That Isn’t Useful

Have you ever kept a box or bag of items that simply don’t serve a purpose in your daily life? For example, I had a pair of heels that simply weren’t useful for pairing with outfits or fitting to my personal style. Yet I kept them because there wasn’t anything wrong with them. If it’s not useful for your style and life, get rid of it.

10| Anything Not Worth Keeping

After you cycle through all of the questions above, ask yourself, “Is this worth keeping?” Meaning: is it in your best interest to keep this item. If not, consider selling or donating it to someone who will find it worthy of keeping in their closet. Don’t feel guilty if you’re getting rid of pieces for this reason. At least you’re being honest with yourself about what you want in your closet.

What would you add to this list? What have you removed from your closet recently? Make sure to leave a comment below!

5 Looks I’m Lusting For: July Edition

Posted in Fashion
on July 20, 2016

BB72016_5LooksI'mLustingForJulyEdition

Another months means another list of outfits and looks that I’ve been loving!

I love sharing the trends and styles from outfits that I’m lusting for. It keeps me inspired and motivated to step out of my comfort zone more with outfits on a daily basis. Hopefully, this will inspire you and motivate you to step out of your fashion comfort zone as well!

spanish-7Summer Lace | annelibush.com

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an all-black outfit that I didn’t love. I know summer is a time for bright colors that you can’t wear during other months of the year, but I love when fashion bloggers can incorporate all-black outfits into their style. For me, I’m all about the neutral colors regardless of the season—so this outfit was a priority to share!

Confidence + Comfort| excessoriesexpert.com

Aside from all-black or all neutral outfits, I LOVE neutrals colors paired with bright, neon mixes. I am also in love with her shoes in this outfit. They’re a more causal, beach-inspired wedge than your typical, summer wedges. I’ve been on the hunt for these particular shoes, but haven’t had any luck. This would work well even for the office if its paired with a blazer or cardigan.

Again, I think it goes without saying that bold, attractive patterns a definite “do” for summer style. What I love about this look is how you pair neutral white jeans and light brown wedges, so that the floral top can be the focal point of this outfit. This way, you won’t overdo it with showing off too many trends all at once in your outfits.

IMG_5694-SIconic Maxi Skirt | thecharmingolive.com

There are outfits you completely fall in love with even when it’s out of your comfort zone or personal style. This outfits holds true for me because I don’t have the bohemian-inspired style; but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy and appreciate the look as a whole! If you’re into maxi skirts this summer, pair a tight crop top with it like this photo. The flowing skirt will balance out the tight crop top.

IMG_5202-1024x683Top Rompers For Summer | charmedbycamille.com

Rompers are my anthem for summer because you don’t have to think about several separate components to create a finished, causal look. That’s the beauty of rompers—you need one time and you’re all set. However, I love the additional accessories and jewelry pieces in her outfit because it brings a southern meets bohemian vibe. Personally, I love this look for simplicity.

Which outfit is your favorite? What looks have you been lusting for this month? Make sure to leave a comment below!
