5 Holy Grail Skincare Products That Will Change Your Skin

I’m all about skincare and sticking to a routine that works well for you. One of the things I love about beauty blogs is when they share products they use every single day that have benefitted their skin. I have been so happy with my skin over the last few years and I want to share my holy grail beauty products that have brought a lot of bliss to my life. So, keep reading if:

1| You’re looking to breathe new life to your skin.

2| Add new products that will help clear your skin for good.

3| Change your routine to feel good in your skin.

1| Cleanser: Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

I haven’t used a facial cleanser other than this one from Cetaphil for seven years; and my skin has thanked me for it. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something that will cleanse your skin without irritation. My pro skin tip: Only wash your face at night instead of twice a day. This has helped my skin even more because I’m not drying it out with excessive washing or water drying out my skin.

2| Serum: Estēe Lauder Pore-Minimizing Skin Refinisher

This Estēe Lauder duo I’ve mentioned so many times includes this serum and moisturizer below. Both have been used on my skin every. single. day for about seven years. This serum specifically has done wonders for my pores and been a skincare essential for me over the years. I’ve tried other products over the years, but nothing compares to this product!

3| Moisturizer: Estēe Lauder Day Wear Moisturizer

I always believe in investing in skincare products and investing in high-quality items that will truly benefit your skin in the long run. Make sure your moisturizer includes SPF in it and includes ingredients that will help your skin glow all year long. Trust me, it is worth investing in skincare products. Your future self will thank you.

4| Masks: Sephora Rose Sheet Mask & Boscia Black Mask

I’ve been using the Sephora Rose Sheet Mask for over two years now, and I truly love the results it gives my skin if I use it frequently, which is two or three times a month when my skin really needs a little more TLC. I know sheet masks aren’t for everyone, but when you use them often enough, you see a difference in your skin’s hydration and clarity altogether. And let’s be real, we all want glowing skin for spring and summer, right?

The Boscia Black Mask is something I’ve only used for a few months, but let me tell you—it’s worth mentioning in this list of essentials. I know I’ll be repurchasing this for years to come because of the results it gives to my nose and skin for unwanted blackheads and whiteheads. TBH no one wants those in their life, so keep your skin and pores extra clear with this product and you’ll love the changes to your skin.

5| Makeup Remover: Bi-Facil Makeup Remover

I have to thank my mom for getting me into my skincare routine with products from Estēe Lauder and Lancome because she taught me form a young age that you should invest in your skincare products. Even at her age, people easily think she is 10 or more years younger because of her glowing skin. I aspire to have her beauty and radiance at her age. This makeup remover is perfect after wearing a day of mascara, eyeliner and more. It takes everything away without feeling harsh on your skin or eyes, which is very important! Plus, a little goes a long way so you’ll definitely get your bang for your buck with this product.

Fall Skin Essentials

bb91616_1

I try to update my skincare routine based on the seasons because the essentials I use in Spring and Summer are completely different from Fall and Winter. Make sure to leave a comment below telling me what your fall skincare essentials are! I want to thank Götz for sponsoring this post and sharing their product with me. Without it, I would have never known a difference one treatment could make to my skin.

1| Makeup Remover

I changed up my makeup remover for fall to an oil-based makeup remover that’s not so harsh on my skin, which is why I’ve been loving the boscia makeup-breakup cleansing oil. I would definitely recommend this if you want a remover that won’t irritate your skin and that will remove all your makeup easily.

2| Cleansers and Scrubs

Cetaphil’s face cleanser has been in my routine for five years and I’ve used Lush’s Cup o’ Coffee for over two years. I can say that both products are wonderful for fall. I treat my skin to a scrub because of the change in weather, but I don’t need to change my skin cleanser because it works well anytime of year. Both are great for normal to oily skin types.

3| Moisturizer

Another set of products I’ve used for more than five years is the DayWear collection from Estēe Lauder. I’ve tried other moisturizers and serums over the years, but I’ve found that this collection works best for fall. Both products are incredibly hydrating but they don’t leave my skin oily or feel weighed down.

4| Treatments

Another newer product I’ve been loving this oxygen facial tonic from Götz. This product balances excessive oils in your skin, without drying out my skin for fall. It also helps soothe redness from blemishes. Let’s be honest, we all have pimples from time to time, so it’s nice to have a product in stock that helps treat any blemishes fast.

After using the facial tonic for a month, I’ve noticed my pores are smaller, and I have less redness in the problem areas of my skin when I have breakouts. I love that it removes all impurities and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. If you’re interested in trying the product yourself, be sure to shop the facial tonic here!

3 Beauty Products You Should Always Invest In

BB62916

There are a ton of beauty blog posts where bloggers share inexpensive alternatives for high-end brands. But what products should you worry about investing in? Although your budget might be tight, it’s worth your money to splurge instead of save.

1| Daytime and nighttime Moisturizer

I am a firm believer that if you invest in your skincare products, you will see positive results. There are so many amazing brands for skincare, so it’s important to consider your budget, skin type and what brands your prefer. Once you have answered those questions, read up on reviews of moisturizers that you are interested in, visit your local Sephora or Ulta for a sample or two. Research as much as possible before you commit to a moisturizer. Once you make the investment, you won’t regret it.

2| Foundation that matches your skin tone

There’s nothing worse than feeling disappointed from using a cheap foundation of BB Cream that not only is the wrong color for your complexion, but it also leaves your skin feel too oily or too dry. Again, research is necessary. Take your budget, skin type and brands you prefer into consideration prior to testing products and investing in them. The more you learn, the better chance you will love the product even more. Again, you won’t regret investing in skin products because this will leave your skin feeling flawless, and you’ll feel confident all day long.

3| A lipstick you feel confident in

Okay, so I know this might seem like a necessary product that you should invest in, but I disagree. Personally, there’s nothing better than being able to find one shade you feel confident in that you invested a little more money in. Why? You’ll have a go-to color to wear every day, and you’ll be able to have a signature lip color that makes you feel good to wear. However, this can take a little longer to find simply because it all depends on what shade you’re looking for. When you decide the color, invest a little extra money, and you’ll have a great way to complete your makeup every day.

5 Ways You’re Washing Your Face Wrong

BB61516

I’m going to be honest—I take my skin care routine very seriously.

I’m the person who can’t even get into bed without taking off her makeup and washing her face. And I’ve been that way for so many years. Growing up with acne problems in middle school and early high school was rough, so now that I have perfected my skincare routine, I appreciate having clear skin.

My friends ask for skincare advice and tips all the time. I thought this would be a great opportunity to share some of my favorite skincare tips with you.

1 | You Wash Your Face Twice A Day

You’re probably thinking…what?! But it’s true. You might be doing more harm than good if you’re washing your face twice a day. You only need to wash your face at night because your skin is exposed to bacteria, which is why I recommend removing your makeup and then washing your skin thoroughly. Washing your skin again in the morning might be causing dryness and irritation to your skin. Skip your morning face wash in the morning. You will notice a difference!

2| You Use The Wrong Products For Your Skin Type

I am a big advocate on educating yourself to learn about your skin type and what products you need to use based on your skin type. If you have dry skin, you shouldn’t be using a regular toner. If you have oily skin, you should make sure your skin products are appropriate for oily skin. I find it amazing how so many people don’t know their skin type, and they don’t realize they’re using products that are causing breakouts, dryness and irritation. It’s important to learn about your skin, so you can treat it properly.

3| You Don’t Moisturize Afterwards

I feel like I shouldn’t be writing this because it’s so straight forward, but so many people don’t use moisturizer. It baffles me maybe because I’ve been so crazy about my skincare routine for so long that it’s second nature to me. Find a moisturizer that’s good for your skin type and use it daily. And don’t skimp out on moisturizer at night! There’s a common misconception that you don’t need to use moisturizer if your skin feels hydrated and healthy, but that’s simply not the case. For other people, it’s comes down to be lazy. Please don’t be that person, and moisturize your skin.

4| You Wash Your Face With Hot Water

Girl, I feel you. The LAST thing you want to do is to wash your skin with freezing cold water at the end of a long day doesn’t sound fun at all. But, if you’re looking for how you can improve your skincare routine, this might be your best bet. Hot water is another way you might be drying out your skin or irritating your skin, which can lead to breakouts and redness over time. Instead, wash your face with cool water (don’t worry, it doesn’t need to be ice cold) at night to better your routine.

5| You Don’t Wash Long Enough

It’s like brushing your teeth, we all don’t brush for the full two minutes. Well, maybe some do, but that’s besides the point. The average person washes their face for about five seconds. Only five seconds! That’s not enough time to remove the makeup, bacteria and dirt from the entire day. You need to take a full 20 seconds to clean your skin thoroughly. Because you’re only washing your skin once a day (see tip 1) you need to ensure you’re getting all the dirt and bacteria out from your skin. Make sure to rinse your skin with cool water and pat dry with a towel.
