1| Garrison + Body Charcoal Scrub

I found this scrub at my local Marshalls and I LOVE it. Although I still love my Cup O’Coffee from Lush for my face, this charcoal scrub works wonders for my body. I’ve gotten into the habit of exfoliating my skin at least once a week, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in how soft my skin is. And it’s only $5.99 for 19 oz. You can’t go wrong with this inexpensive and effective scrub!

2| Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

If you’ve been around, you know that I have had an issue with finding an eye makeup remover that won’t irritate my eyes. I’ve tried some off-brands eye makeup remover—and needless to say, it wasn’t pretty whatsoever. At a recent trip to Sephora, one of the associates recommended this product from boscia, and I’ve been in love with it ever since because it removes all my eye makeup without any irritation. If you have sensitive eyes, I would recommend this for you.

3| Lush Damaged Hot Oil Treatment

As much as I love my DIY coconut oil hair treatments, I thought it would be good to try this Lush hot oil treatment. What’s awesome about this product is that you get at least three treatments out of one small bar. All you do is heat up the oil to melt it, and then place the remainder in the fridge and use as necessary. I would recommend using the “Damaged” treatment twice a month for best results.

4| Tony Moly Pomegranate Sheet Mask

I have been using sheet masks regularly for over a year now, and I love the results of my skin consistently. A few months ago, I posted a Battle of the Sheet Masks post between Sephora and Tony Moly. You read the post to see which brand won. I have been loving the results of using the Pomegranate sheet mask and the Seawood sheet mask from this brand.

5| Lush Bath Oil

I know everyone loves Lush bath bombs and bubble bars, but they recently came out with these bath oils that are natural butters with essential oils that melt into the water and into your skin. You can add in supplementary bath bombs or bubble bars, but I love the results of simply using the bath oil. I picked up Floating Island, which has sandalwood and vanilla bean. It leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed.

Refresh Your Beauty & Makeup Routine For Spring

Posted in Beauty
on April 13, 2016

I don’t know about you guys, but I love that spring is here. Although, last week was very disappointing with unplanned rain and snow, the weather is finally in spring mode. In honor of the lovely weather, I decided to revamp my beauty and makeup routine for spring with newer products for my hair, skin and makeup! Be sure to keep reading if you’re looking to refresh your beauty and makeup for spring, too!

Moisturize Your Hair: After using the same shampoo and conditioner for five months, I thought it would be time to change things up for the season. I’m not going to lie, I find hair products to be unnecessarily expensive. I would rather invest in products for my skin rather than my hair. However, I have found that this shampoo and conditioner combination from Pantene has helped to restore my hair from its dry and damaged state from the long winter. It has been replenished with moisture, and I’ve been using these product regularly for a few weeks now. I’m hoping to add a hair oil and more hair treatments in my routine, so if you have recommendations, leave a comment!

Find A Quality Moisturizer: I’ve honestly used this skincare routine from Estée Lauder since high school, and I swear by it to this day. The products are extremely hydrating and refreshing on your skin, which is exactly what my skin needs after winter. This serum and moisturizer combo treats my skin each day with vitamins C and E, which keep skin looking young and healthy. Also, make sure your moisturizer has SPF! It’s a necessity for protecting your skin.

Remove Your Makeup—Always: I cringe whenever my friends tell me they sleep with their makeup on each night, but they complain about their skin. You need to remove your makeup, and cleanse your skin at night! Sleeping with makeup is such a horrible habit you need to break this spring. I’ve been obsessed with the cleansing water from Simple because it’s hydrating and refreshing on my skin when I remove makeup. I definitely recommend investing in this product. Leave it next to your bed with some cotton rounds for when you’re too lazy to get out of bed.

Scrub Your Skin: After winter, my dull, damaged skin is in desperate need of some TLC. I always purchase a body and face scrub each spring to exfoliate my skin twice a week. That way, I can remove any dead skin cells, and make up my skin is prepped for all the lovely dresses and skirts I’ll be wearing now that the weather is beautiful and warm! I love Ocean Salt from Lush because it not too intense on my skin. It’s soft and moisturizing because it contains sea salt and coconut cream.

Oil Up: As much as I love my Bath & Body Works products, sometimes I need to kick it old school with skin therapy oil from Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula. What I love most about this is that it smells like summer, and it helps to if you have scars in addition to dry, damaged skin. I’ve also read that many people use this if they have Keratosis Pilaris, which I have, so I’m hoping this helps treat that as well. It’s also a great formula if you’re looking to reduce the signs of stretch marks. For $10, this product will last you a very long time, and can replace a body lotion in your beauty routine.

Refresh Your Foundation: I like to lighten up my makeup routine for spring. I pack away any makeup made for winter. Typically, I don’t wear heavy foundation because it never sits well on my face. BB creams and CC creams have been my life saver. I love CC creams for spring especially because they don’t weight my skin down and they’re hydrating. This one from Stila has been my go-to for a few years now. It’s lightweight, but still covers any redness and evens out my complexion.

Lighten Up Your Lips: Don’t get me wrong, I love dark, matte lips as much as the next girl. But for spring, I love to bring out light pinks to incorporate into my routine. I’ve also been loving the combination of pairing liquid lipsticks with glosses. I’ve been reaching for my YSL glosses a ton to mix with the melted liquid lipsticks from Too Faced. My favorite combination is Metallic Bubblegum from Too Faced and Rose Orfèvre from YSL. It’s perfect for spring.

Highlight Your High Points: This past fall and winter, I rarely wore blush or highlighter. Maybe I was a little lazy with my makeup, but it never felt right to use these products on my skin in winter. Now that spring is here, I’ve refreshed my makeup with light pink blush, highlighter and a neutral bronzing powder. I focus the highlighter on areas to like my cheek bones and then with bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks. The Bronze Goddess from Estée Lauder is the best product I’ve ever used. It’s natural looking on my skin, and it lasts for a long time.

I’m curious to know how you refresh your beauty and makeup routine for spring. Make sure to leave a comment below with your favorite products for the season!

April Beauty Wish List

Posted in Beauty
on April 11, 2016

Ladybug Bubble Bar: Lush ($5.95)

Okay, am I the only person who thinks this is the cutest bubble bar ever? I haven’t been to Lush in March or February, so I think this will be the month I splurge on a few items for myself. I love that this has peppermint oil, which is great after a long, stressful day. This is easily the number one item on my wish list because I am a sucker for all things Lush.

Algae Sheet Mask: Sephora ($6)

You know how much I love Sephora’s sheet masks. They’re incredible, and well worth the $6 if you use them regularly on your skin as a weekly treatment. I noticed there is a new mask called the Algae mask, which is great for purifying and detoxifying your skin. After this month, I feel like my skin will definitely need some TLC.

Damaged Hair Treatment: Lush ($9.95)

Is your hair dry and damaged after the crazy weather we have had for the last two months? Mine is for sure. I have been trying to update my hair routine by trying different shampoos and conditioners, but I’ve been looking for a treatment for when my hair is desperate for an extra boost. This treatment made this month’s list because my hair is in serious need of revitalizing treatment.

Spray On Nail Polish: Sephora ($12)

Guys, this is the future. Spray-on nail polish sounds like something from a dream set in 2050. I love the idea of spraying my nails once, and just washing off the product that’s left on my skin. I don’t know how well this will work, but I can only assume good things if it’s at Sephora. I did watch a YouTube review, and it seems to have worked really well! I’m hoping to have the same results.

Ouai Hail Oil: Sephora ($28)

Toward the middle of 2015, I ran out of my favorite hair oil, and never picked it up again. Maybe I got lazy with my hair routine, but now that summer is a few months away, I think it’s a good time to add it back into my beauty routine. In previous years, I would opt for cheap oils, but now that I know the benefits of investing in a hair oil, I’ll be sure to do that this year.

What is on your beauty wish list for April? What products have you been loving recently? Make sure to leave a comment below!

Spring Beauty Wish List

Posted in Beauty
on March 14, 2016

I’m beyond excited for spring. There’s nothing better than being able to pack away my winter items and bring out everything I use for spring. Today, I’m sharing five beauty products on my spring wish list for 2016! Make sure to let me know what’s on your spring beauty wish list in the comments!

Laura Mercier Crème Brûlée Sugar Scrub:

I’ve been wanting to treat myself to a high-end scrub for the last few months, but I haven’t taken the plunge yet. Although I think $50 for a sugar scrub might be a little too much for me, I think it would be worth it based on the quality of Laura Mercier’s products. I’m also a little obsessed with the scent and name of this scrub.

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick:

You guys know that I’ve been a die-hard fan of Too Faced’s liquid lipsticks since Christmastime when I received my first gift set of four shades. However, those were all more suitable for fall and winter. Now, I’m looking for shades that will be perfect for spring and summer. I have my eye on Dusty Rose for spring!

Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush:

This was another product I fell in love with back around the holidays because I received some blushes and bronzers from Too Faced. Now, They’re the only products I use religiously, but I haven’t purchased a full-sized sample yet; but I’m hoping to buy “Your Love is King” this season.

Escada Turquoise Summer Rollerball:

A few summers ago, I had a bottle of Pure Paradise from Escada and fell in love with it! I’ve been researching light, fresh scents for spring and summer—and this seems to be a popular choice based on reviews and preferences. I’m hoping to give this product a try and have it for the upcoming seasons!

boscia Charcoal Pore-Minimizing Hydrogel Mask:

You guys know how much I love sheet masks. I’ve tried several brands, but I want to keep trying more. I’ve read incredible reviews about boscia products and how their sheet mask is great for reducing pores and giving your skin a little TLC. After winter, my skin could definitely use it!

Battle of the Sheet Masks: Sephora vs. TonyMoly

Posted in Beauty
on February 22, 2016

If you didn’t check out my first Beauty Battle post, make sure to check out my review of the Benefit POREfessional primer verses the Too Faced Hangover primer; and see who I chose as the winner!

Today, I’ll be sharing a similar post with my new favorite beauty product: sheet masks. I have been loving sheet masks since fall, and they have definitely changed my skin for the better. I’ve been trying different brands over the last few months, but I have constantly raved about Sephora’s sheet masks since last September.

After a few months, I found a strong competitor against Sephora’s sheet masks—TonyMoly’s “I’m Real” sheet masks. So, I thought it would be appropriate to share the positives and negatives of these two sheet masks.

Which mask is less expensive?

TonyMoly’s sheet mask! Sephora’s sheet masks are $6 whereas TonyMoly’s sheet masks are $3.95. For me, I definitely take price into consideration. Especially if I’m purchasing masks to treat my skin on a weekly basis. I don’t want to drop $24 when I could be spending $16. There’s a significant price difference between these masks.

Which mask is more saturated?

TonyMoly’s sheet mask. I thought Sephora’s sheet mask were saturated and dense with ingredients until I tried TonyMoly’s. I know some people find lack of saturation to be their biggest deal breaker for sheet masks, which I understand. Why would you want to buy a product that is supposed to treat your skin, but doesn’t have the ingredients to do so? If you care about your skin soaking in as much TLC as possible, stick with TonyMoly!

Which mask shows results more quickly?

Sephora’s sheet masks. I have to give this one to Sephora because I noticed a huge difference in my skin with hydration and brightness after one use. I even noticed it two days after using the sheet mask. Whereas with Tonymoly’s sheet masks, it takes an average of two or three times before I noticed a huge difference in my skin.

Which brand has more variety of sheet masks?

Sephora has eight types of masks for different purposes whereas TonyMoly only has six types of masks. If you’re looking for diversity in types of treatments for your skin, you’re definitely better off with purchasing sheet masks from Sephora.

Who won this battle?

Sephora sheet masks! Based on variety, results and overall quality—I have to say that Sephora sheet masks won this battle. However, I still think TonyMoly’s sheet masks are just as good if you’re looking for a brand that’s less expensive.

Have you tried sheet masks from Sephora or TonyMoly? Which mask did you prefer? If you tried other brands, what would you recommend? Leave your comments below!
