5 Holy Grail Skincare Products That Will Change Your Skin

Posted in Beauty
on April 5, 2017

I’m all about skincare and sticking to a routine that works well for you. One of the things I love about beauty blogs is when they share products they use every single day that have benefitted their skin. I have been so happy with my skin over the last few years and I want to share my holy grail beauty products that have brought a lot of bliss to my life. So, keep reading if:

1| You’re looking to breathe new life to your skin.

2| Add new products that will help clear your skin for good.

3| Change your routine to feel good in your skin.

1| Cleanser: Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

I haven’t used a facial cleanser other than this one from Cetaphil for seven years; and my skin has thanked me for it. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something that will cleanse your skin without irritation. My pro skin tip: Only wash your face at night instead of twice a day. This has helped my skin even more because I’m not drying it out with excessive washing or water drying out my skin.

2| Serum: Estēe Lauder Pore-Minimizing Skin Refinisher

This Estēe Lauder duo I’ve mentioned so many times includes this serum and moisturizer below. Both have been used on my skin every. single. day for about seven years. This serum specifically has done wonders for my pores and been a skincare essential for me over the years. I’ve tried other products over the years, but nothing compares to this product!

3| Moisturizer: Estēe Lauder Day Wear Moisturizer

I always believe in investing in skincare products and investing in high-quality items that will truly benefit your skin in the long run. Make sure your moisturizer includes SPF in it and includes ingredients that will help your skin glow all year long. Trust me, it is worth investing in skincare products. Your future self will thank you.

4| Masks: Sephora Rose Sheet Mask & Boscia Black Mask

I’ve been using the Sephora Rose Sheet Mask for over two years now, and I truly love the results it gives my skin if I use it frequently, which is two or three times a month when my skin really needs a little more TLC. I know sheet masks aren’t for everyone, but when you use them often enough, you see a difference in your skin’s hydration and clarity altogether. And let’s be real, we all want glowing skin for spring and summer, right?

The Boscia Black Mask is something I’ve only used for a few months, but let me tell you—it’s worth mentioning in this list of essentials. I know I’ll be repurchasing this for years to come because of the results it gives to my nose and skin for unwanted blackheads and whiteheads. TBH no one wants those in their life, so keep your skin and pores extra clear with this product and you’ll love the changes to your skin.

5| Makeup Remover: Bi-Facil Makeup Remover

I have to thank my mom for getting me into my skincare routine with products from Estēe Lauder and Lancome because she taught me form a young age that you should invest in your skincare products. Even at her age, people easily think she is 10 or more years younger because of her glowing skin. I aspire to have her beauty and radiance at her age. This makeup remover is perfect after wearing a day of mascara, eyeliner and more. It takes everything away without feeling harsh on your skin or eyes, which is very important! Plus, a little goes a long way so you’ll definitely get your bang for your buck with this product.

Fall Skin Essentials

Posted in Beauty
on September 16, 2016

bb91616_1

I try to update my skincare routine based on the seasons because the essentials I use in Spring and Summer are completely different from Fall and Winter. Make sure to leave a comment below telling me what your fall skincare essentials are! I want to thank Götz for sponsoring this post and sharing their product with me. Without it, I would have never known a difference one treatment could make to my skin.

1| Makeup Remover

I changed up my makeup remover for fall to an oil-based makeup remover that’s not so harsh on my skin, which is why I’ve been loving the boscia makeup-breakup cleansing oil. I would definitely recommend this if you want a remover that won’t irritate your skin and that will remove all your makeup easily.

2| Cleansers and Scrubs

Cetaphil’s face cleanser has been in my routine for five years and I’ve used Lush’s Cup o’ Coffee for over two years. I can say that both products are wonderful for fall. I treat my skin to a scrub because of the change in weather, but I don’t need to change my skin cleanser because it works well anytime of year. Both are great for normal to oily skin types.

3| Moisturizer

Another set of products I’ve used for more than five years is the DayWear collection from Estēe Lauder. I’ve tried other moisturizers and serums over the years, but I’ve found that this collection works best for fall. Both products are incredibly hydrating but they don’t leave my skin oily or feel weighed down.

4| Treatments

Another newer product I’ve been loving this oxygen facial tonic from Götz. This product balances excessive oils in your skin, without drying out my skin for fall. It also helps soothe redness from blemishes. Let’s be honest, we all have pimples from time to time, so it’s nice to have a product in stock that helps treat any blemishes fast.

After using the facial tonic for a month, I’ve noticed my pores are smaller, and I have less redness in the problem areas of my skin when I have breakouts. I love that it removes all impurities and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. If you’re interested in trying the product yourself, be sure to shop the facial tonic here!

3 Beauty Products You Should Always Invest In

Posted in Beauty
on June 29, 2016

BB62916

There are a ton of beauty blog posts where bloggers share inexpensive alternatives for high-end brands. But what products should you worry about investing in? Although your budget might be tight, it’s worth your money to splurge instead of save.

1| Daytime and nighttime Moisturizer

I am a firm believer that if you invest in your skincare products, you will see positive results. There are so many amazing brands for skincare, so it’s important to consider your budget, skin type and what brands your prefer. Once you have answered those questions, read up on reviews of moisturizers that you are interested in, visit your local Sephora or Ulta for a sample or two. Research as much as possible before you commit to a moisturizer. Once you make the investment, you won’t regret it.

2| Foundation that matches your skin tone

There’s nothing worse than feeling disappointed from using a cheap foundation of BB Cream that not only is the wrong color for your complexion, but it also leaves your skin feel too oily or too dry. Again, research is necessary. Take your budget, skin type and brands you prefer into consideration prior to testing products and investing in them. The more you learn, the better chance you will love the product even more. Again, you won’t regret investing in skin products because this will leave your skin feeling flawless, and you’ll feel confident all day long.

3| A lipstick you feel confident in

Okay, so I know this might seem like a necessary product that you should invest in, but I disagree. Personally, there’s nothing better than being able to find one shade you feel confident in that you invested a little more money in. Why? You’ll have a go-to color to wear every day, and you’ll be able to have a signature lip color that makes you feel good to wear. However, this can take a little longer to find simply because it all depends on what shade you’re looking for. When you decide the color, invest a little extra money, and you’ll have a great way to complete your makeup every day.

What would you add to this list? Make sure to leave a comment below!

5 Updates For Your Summer Makeup Bag

Posted in Beauty
on June 27, 2016

BB62416

Summer is finally here, which means it’s time to update your makeup bag for summer. Yes, this might not be 100 percent necessary for your beauty routine, but these five changes can help your makeup last during the hottest days of summer.

1| Ditch Foundation

I’m not a foundation person to begin with, so this one doesn’t necessarily apply me. However I do change from a BB cream to a CC cream, which is a slightly lighter formula. The goal from swapping out your foundation for a tinted moisturizer is to remove any heaviness from your face that might weigh your skin down during the hot summer days. You want light formula while still having coverage on your skin. Better yet, try only using a little concealer in your problem areas for best results.

2| Add Oil-Blotting Sheets

I have oil-blotting sheets with me at all times during summer. There is a pack in my purse, my makeup bag, my work bag…I always have some close by. They are an essential for removing excess oil, dirt and sweat from your skin during the day without messing up your makeup. I think these are such an underrated item to carry with you throughout summer, and they are definitely worth your money even if you don’t have oily skin.

3| Swap Finishing Powder For Spray

Powder formulas are going to give that caked-on, dry feeling on your skin that you’ll hate. No one has time for packed on powder, so swap this out for a finishing spray. You will see the same results in a long-lasting product that will keep your makeup in place without weighing your skin down in the process. What I love about this spray from Supergoop is that is contains SPF 50, which will protect your skin, too!

4| Go Waterproof

If you frequent the beach or lake during summertime, you’ll want to make this mascara change in your makeup routine. Waterproof formulas work wonders if you know you’re going to be in the water all day long. You can easily look presentable all day without your mascara running and stinging your eyes. (Trust me, this is NOT a good feeling.) Just make sure you have a proper eye-makeup remover that will easily wash away your mascara at the end of the day.

5| Remove Unnecessary Items

For me, my summer makeup routine looks extremely different from my makeup look in fall and winter. Why? I try to simplify my beauty routine as much as possible during summer. I don’t use blush or a ton of eyeshadow unless there is a special occasion. I try to stick to five products: concealer, bronzer, mascara, eyebrow pencil and lipstick. If you’re a girl who has a complex beauty routine, you might want to cut down on some makeup to save time and to give your skin a break from heavy products.

Do you change your makeup routine for summer? How? Do you have any tips to add? Make sure to leave a comment below!

Birchbox Review: April Edition

Posted in Beauty
on April 20, 2016

BB42016-1

I have never been more excited to share a Birchbox review with you guys. This was easily my favorite box I’ve received since December. Needless to say, Happy Birthday to me!

Not only was the box adorable (I am keeping it forever, not kidding) but I loved every single product in the box. So, if you’re looking for a review that has negative comments, you will be disappointed. I have never felt so tempted to purchase every one of the items in my Birchbox, so I’m happy to say that this month’s box was incredible. Let’s get into the review!

BB42016-4

Acure Organics Pore Minimizing Facial Scrub | $12.99

There is nothing better than finding a high-quality product that won’t break the bank. I love this face scrub because it’s inexpensive, but you see results quickly. It’s a vegan scrub that has Moroccan red clay to remove any impurities from your skin. It’s also perfect for all skin types, so you won’t have to worry about it irritating your skin.

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Coco | $36-$85

It’s difficult for me to fall in love with a scent because I’m incredibly picky. I like my scents to be more sweet than floral based, but not too sweet where I smell like a walking fruit stand. Purchasing perfumes is no easy task. However, I am obsessed with this perfume because it’s the perfect combination of soft, floral scents and fruity scents. It has notes of coconut, vanilla and heliotrope, which create a combination that makes you feel like you’re on a tropical island.

Davines OI All-In-One Milk | $30

Bonus: Shampoo and Conditioner | $28-$34

You guys know that I’m not a big fan of hair products. First, I think spending a ton of money of hair products you don’t need is a waste. But, this all-in-one milk is a leave-in treatment that not only adds shine to your hair, but it also helps to detangle your hair, and works as a heat protector. So, instead of going out and buying three different hair treatments, you can buy this and it will work for everything you need.

This also came with a bonus sample of the Davines absolute beautifying shampoo and conditioner. While their price range for their products is far more than I can personally afford, I wouldn’t rule this out as an option if I’m looking to invest in a high-quality shampoo and conditioner duo. Maybe this will be something I add to my birthday or Christmas list each year in hopes someone will buy it for me! I noticed that my hair felt sleek, shiny and refreshed after two uses of this shampoo and conditioner.

BB42016-2

POP Beauty Matte Velvet Lipstick | $24 (set of 3)

Holy pigmentation! Not only was the quantity of this product impressive, but it also has a gorgeous color (shade Cozy Crimson). I feel like I could easily incorporate this color into my makeup routine throughout the year regardless of the season. Plus, I was looking for a versatile, red lip. If you’re not into matte lipsticks, this might not be for you. But you can always add a gloss on top for a softer finish.

Supergoop Daily Correct CC Cream | $32

I am all about CC creams. As much as I love the Stila Color Correcting CC Cream, $44 is a little pricey for the product. I love that this is a little less expensive, but it also gives my skin a flawless finish. What’s best about this product is that although it’s lightweight on your skin, it still covers any imperfections you may have. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to lighten your makeup routine for spring and summer.

There’s a 100 percent chance that I will be purchasing these products. Although I am happy that I had such a positive experience with my Birchbox this month, I’m sad that I loved everything SO much that I need to buy it all.

BB42016-3

Are you guys subscribed to Birchbox? If you are, did you like your box for April? If not, have you ever tried these products from this month’s box? Leave a comment below!
