1| Garrison + Body Charcoal Scrub

I found this scrub at my local Marshalls and I LOVE it. Although I still love my Cup O’Coffee from Lush for my face, this charcoal scrub works wonders for my body. I’ve gotten into the habit of exfoliating my skin at least once a week, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in how soft my skin is. And it’s only $5.99 for 19 oz. You can’t go wrong with this inexpensive and effective scrub!

2| Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

If you’ve been around, you know that I have had an issue with finding an eye makeup remover that won’t irritate my eyes. I’ve tried some off-brands eye makeup remover—and needless to say, it wasn’t pretty whatsoever. At a recent trip to Sephora, one of the associates recommended this product from boscia, and I’ve been in love with it ever since because it removes all my eye makeup without any irritation. If you have sensitive eyes, I would recommend this for you.

3| Lush Damaged Hot Oil Treatment

As much as I love my DIY coconut oil hair treatments, I thought it would be good to try this Lush hot oil treatment. What’s awesome about this product is that you get at least three treatments out of one small bar. All you do is heat up the oil to melt it, and then place the remainder in the fridge and use as necessary. I would recommend using the “Damaged” treatment twice a month for best results.

4| Tony Moly Pomegranate Sheet Mask

I have been using sheet masks regularly for over a year now, and I love the results of my skin consistently. A few months ago, I posted a Battle of the Sheet Masks post between Sephora and Tony Moly. You read the post to see which brand won. I have been loving the results of using the Pomegranate sheet mask and the Seawood sheet mask from this brand.

5| Lush Bath Oil

I know everyone loves Lush bath bombs and bubble bars, but they recently came out with these bath oils that are natural butters with essential oils that melt into the water and into your skin. You can add in supplementary bath bombs or bubble bars, but I love the results of simply using the bath oil. I picked up Floating Island, which has sandalwood and vanilla bean. It leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed.

Refresh Your Beauty & Makeup Routine For Spring

Posted in Beauty
on April 13, 2016

I don’t know about you guys, but I love that spring is here. Although, last week was very disappointing with unplanned rain and snow, the weather is finally in spring mode. In honor of the lovely weather, I decided to revamp my beauty and makeup routine for spring with newer products for my hair, skin and makeup! Be sure to keep reading if you’re looking to refresh your beauty and makeup for spring, too!

Moisturize Your Hair: After using the same shampoo and conditioner for five months, I thought it would be time to change things up for the season. I’m not going to lie, I find hair products to be unnecessarily expensive. I would rather invest in products for my skin rather than my hair. However, I have found that this shampoo and conditioner combination from Pantene has helped to restore my hair from its dry and damaged state from the long winter. It has been replenished with moisture, and I’ve been using these product regularly for a few weeks now. I’m hoping to add a hair oil and more hair treatments in my routine, so if you have recommendations, leave a comment!

Find A Quality Moisturizer: I’ve honestly used this skincare routine from Estée Lauder since high school, and I swear by it to this day. The products are extremely hydrating and refreshing on your skin, which is exactly what my skin needs after winter. This serum and moisturizer combo treats my skin each day with vitamins C and E, which keep skin looking young and healthy. Also, make sure your moisturizer has SPF! It’s a necessity for protecting your skin.

Remove Your Makeup—Always: I cringe whenever my friends tell me they sleep with their makeup on each night, but they complain about their skin. You need to remove your makeup, and cleanse your skin at night! Sleeping with makeup is such a horrible habit you need to break this spring. I’ve been obsessed with the cleansing water from Simple because it’s hydrating and refreshing on my skin when I remove makeup. I definitely recommend investing in this product. Leave it next to your bed with some cotton rounds for when you’re too lazy to get out of bed.

Scrub Your Skin: After winter, my dull, damaged skin is in desperate need of some TLC. I always purchase a body and face scrub each spring to exfoliate my skin twice a week. That way, I can remove any dead skin cells, and make up my skin is prepped for all the lovely dresses and skirts I’ll be wearing now that the weather is beautiful and warm! I love Ocean Salt from Lush because it not too intense on my skin. It’s soft and moisturizing because it contains sea salt and coconut cream.

Oil Up: As much as I love my Bath & Body Works products, sometimes I need to kick it old school with skin therapy oil from Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula. What I love most about this is that it smells like summer, and it helps to if you have scars in addition to dry, damaged skin. I’ve also read that many people use this if they have Keratosis Pilaris, which I have, so I’m hoping this helps treat that as well. It’s also a great formula if you’re looking to reduce the signs of stretch marks. For $10, this product will last you a very long time, and can replace a body lotion in your beauty routine.

Refresh Your Foundation: I like to lighten up my makeup routine for spring. I pack away any makeup made for winter. Typically, I don’t wear heavy foundation because it never sits well on my face. BB creams and CC creams have been my life saver. I love CC creams for spring especially because they don’t weight my skin down and they’re hydrating. This one from Stila has been my go-to for a few years now. It’s lightweight, but still covers any redness and evens out my complexion.

Lighten Up Your Lips: Don’t get me wrong, I love dark, matte lips as much as the next girl. But for spring, I love to bring out light pinks to incorporate into my routine. I’ve also been loving the combination of pairing liquid lipsticks with glosses. I’ve been reaching for my YSL glosses a ton to mix with the melted liquid lipsticks from Too Faced. My favorite combination is Metallic Bubblegum from Too Faced and Rose Orfèvre from YSL. It’s perfect for spring.

Highlight Your High Points: This past fall and winter, I rarely wore blush or highlighter. Maybe I was a little lazy with my makeup, but it never felt right to use these products on my skin in winter. Now that spring is here, I’ve refreshed my makeup with light pink blush, highlighter and a neutral bronzing powder. I focus the highlighter on areas to like my cheek bones and then with bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks. The Bronze Goddess from Estée Lauder is the best product I’ve ever used. It’s natural looking on my skin, and it lasts for a long time.

I’m curious to know how you refresh your beauty and makeup routine for spring. Make sure to leave a comment below with your favorite products for the season!

April Beauty Wish List

Posted in Beauty
on April 11, 2016

Ladybug Bubble Bar: Lush ($5.95)

Okay, am I the only person who thinks this is the cutest bubble bar ever? I haven’t been to Lush in March or February, so I think this will be the month I splurge on a few items for myself. I love that this has peppermint oil, which is great after a long, stressful day. This is easily the number one item on my wish list because I am a sucker for all things Lush.

Algae Sheet Mask: Sephora ($6)

You know how much I love Sephora’s sheet masks. They’re incredible, and well worth the $6 if you use them regularly on your skin as a weekly treatment. I noticed there is a new mask called the Algae mask, which is great for purifying and detoxifying your skin. After this month, I feel like my skin will definitely need some TLC.

Damaged Hair Treatment: Lush ($9.95)

Is your hair dry and damaged after the crazy weather we have had for the last two months? Mine is for sure. I have been trying to update my hair routine by trying different shampoos and conditioners, but I’ve been looking for a treatment for when my hair is desperate for an extra boost. This treatment made this month’s list because my hair is in serious need of revitalizing treatment.

Spray On Nail Polish: Sephora ($12)

Guys, this is the future. Spray-on nail polish sounds like something from a dream set in 2050. I love the idea of spraying my nails once, and just washing off the product that’s left on my skin. I don’t know how well this will work, but I can only assume good things if it’s at Sephora. I did watch a YouTube review, and it seems to have worked really well! I’m hoping to have the same results.

Ouai Hail Oil: Sephora ($28)

Toward the middle of 2015, I ran out of my favorite hair oil, and never picked it up again. Maybe I got lazy with my hair routine, but now that summer is a few months away, I think it’s a good time to add it back into my beauty routine. In previous years, I would opt for cheap oils, but now that I know the benefits of investing in a hair oil, I’ll be sure to do that this year.

What is on your beauty wish list for April? What products have you been loving recently? Make sure to leave a comment below!

January Favorites 2016

Posted in Beauty
on January 25, 2016

I can’t believe that the first month of 2016 is over! I tried so many new products throughout January, and I couldn’t be more excited to share some of my favorites from this month.

Eyeko Fat Liquid Eyeliner: Birchbox, $16

I received this eyeliner in my January Birchbox, and I’ve been loving it. It has become a staple in my makeup routine throughout the month! I have been using the Lancôme liquid liner for over a year now, and I can safely say this product surpasses it. If you want to get perfect winged liner, you need this brand in your life.

“Where’s my Latte” Nail Polish: Francescas’s, $4

For my blogging friends who are obsessed with nail polish, you have to try the collection from Francesca’s. I will admit that I was skeptical about buying $4 nail polish, but it lasts for at least a week without touch-ups, and the colors are beautiful! I have been wearing this shade all month long, and I plan to purchase more in the future!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick: Sephora, $21

Liquid lipsticks have been my favorite product to buy over the last few months. I love this color in “Dusty Mauve.” I’ve been wearing it everyday throughout January, and I don’t think I’ll be putting this shade away anytime soon! I have a feeling I’ll be owing the entire collection by spring. What I love most is how pigmented they are, and that they’re long lasting.

Jimmy Choo Blossom Perfume: Sephora, $80

One gift that has become a “Christmas tradition” between my mom and I is buying perfume. I feel like this is the only time of year she goes out of her way to buy me a new perfume. This scent from Jimmy Choo is incredible. With notes of Italian Citrus, Red Berries, Sandalwood and more, this perfume has a wonderful combination of sweet and soft that’s perfect all year long.

Bûche de Noël Face And Body Cleanser: Lush, $12.95

Throughout 2015, I redeveloped my relationship with Lush. The problem is that I can definitely go crazy from one visit. You can just simply buy one item from Lush. I received this face and body cleanser that has worked wonders on my skin. With almonds and cocoa butter, it leaves skin feeling fresh and hydrated in the winter. This has become a staple in my winter skincare routine.

Sephora Collection Eye Masks: Sephora, $5

2015 was the year I discovered the beauty of Sephora sheet masks. More recently, I’ve discovered their eye masks as well, which are equally amazing. The three I’ve been loving most are the lotus eye mask, the honey eye mask and the rose eye mask. All three masks serve different purposes (similar to the sheet masks). And they leave your under-eye area feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

New Beauty Goodies & At-Home Spa Night Tips for Winter

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Ocean Salt: Lush, $21.95

This is my go-to product for any areas that have been feeling more dry due to the winter air. This is also a great pick if you want to exfoliate your legs before shaving! You’ll get a clean shave with this scrub. A little goes a long way!

Bûche De Noël: Lush, $12.95

This face and body cleanser was intimidating at first because it has a soft, crumbling texture. However, it’s one of my favorite products I’ve used from Lush. The scent is incredible, and it leaves my skin feeling radiant and fresh after a long day.

Butterbear: Lush, $4.95

If you’re a fan of the Butterball bath bomb, you’ll love this bath bomb as well. It has the same scents of cocoa butter and vanilla to leave your skin moisturized and revitalized. It’s perfect to wake up your skin from harsh weather in winter.

Bot Bath Bomb: Lush, $3.95

If you struggle with sleeping, this is a great bath bomb for you! With lavender essential oils, this bath bomb will calm your mind and relieve your troubles. I recommend mixing this with epsom salts to really unwind after a stressful week.

Sephora Face & Eye Masks: Sephora, $6-sheet mask, $5-eye mask.

I’ve been using these sheet masks from Sephora for months now. They’re a necessity for a spa night, or a pick-me-up treat for my face. Each mask serves different purposes like reducing acne, moisturizing, and more! You’ll love these masks and get hooked after one use.

Satin Smooth Hand & Foot Pack: Satin Smooth: Folica, $5

Before you treat your hands and feet to some much needed TLC, why not try a “mask” to moisturize? What I love about these products is that they slip on like socks or gloves. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, and feel the difference in your hands and feet.

Tips For A Winter, At-Home Spa Night:

Set the mood:

Bust out the candles, play some relaxing music in the background, and pour yourself some wine. If you don’t treat yourself to a pamper evening often, this is the one night where you can fully relax. You deserve feel relaxed and refreshed.

No tech distractions:

Try not to scroll through social media or snap a pic of your spa night on Instagram while you’re in the bath. Instead, pick up a book you’ve been longing to read or write in a journal. We need that break from our phones and a spa night is the best time for a tech break.

Don’t rush:

I’m guilty of this. I struggle to fully relax because I feel like I’m pressed for time, and I need to rush with my spa night as quickly as possible. I rush through my “me” time when I shouldn’t worry about a time constraint. There’s no rush and remember take the time you need.
