Statement Necklace: Windsor, $15.90

I’ve been wearing this necklace so much throughout November. It has been my go-to piece for the month. It makes me feel edgy and chic, which is way out of my comfort zone. I love how heavy and bold it is for an inexpensive price.

Yog Nog Bath Bomb: Lush, $6.95

I rediscovered my love for Lush bath bombs. Typically, I stick to face products from Lush; but I decided to purchase some bath products. I fell in love with Yog Nog so much that I have repurchased it twice this month. If you love warm, toffee scents, you’ll love this product!

Salt and Peppermint Bark: Lush, $9.95

I have been obsessed with the body scrubs from Lush, so when I saw this holiday scrub was out—I knew I had to get it. I love the smell of peppermint around Christmastime because it reminds me of holiday baking. Anytime I use it, I want to whip up a batch of cookies.

Animal Kingdom Book: Francesca’s, $14.95

I’ve been coloring in my (adult) coloring book all month, and I’ve been loving it. It’s so relaxing to create something without being attached to my phone. I feel like the only time I’m creative is through blogging, so having this non-digital outlet has been great to reduce stress.

Villa Triste: Barnes and Noble, $5

When I purchased this back in October for $4.98, I was so excited. I love historical fiction, so anytime I can buy a bargain book for cheap at Barnes & Noble, I’m a happy camper. I finally set time aside to read more, and I truly love this book!

Marc Jacobs Perfume: Sephora, $92

Marc Jacobs understands me and the scents I love. I am rather selective when it comes to perfume because I don’t like a lot of floral notes in a scent. This means I have a limited choice. But Marc Jacobs never seems to fail me. This has been my go-to scent for the month.

St. Ives body Wash: Target, $3.97

When I need a break from all my Lush products (kidding, that’s not possible) I love giving my body a break and keeping it simple with St. Ives. It always feels extra refreshing on my skin, so my skin feels pampered and moisturized for the day.

Wine-Colored Wristlet: Macy’s, $13.99

Sometimes, I don’t want to carry my huge bag all day. Instead, if I know I’m going out to a dinner with friends, or running a few errands, I’ll throw my money, phone and card in my wristlet, grab my keys and go. It’s perfect for when I need free hands while Christmas shopping.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m incredibly excited for Thanksgiving. This is the first Thanksgiving I won’t have to worry about going into work late after dinner and work overnight. It’s a huge deal for me. So, although I’ll be working an early shift Friday morning, it’ll be worth having tomorrow off.

I decided to create an outfit that looks put-together, but that’s comfortable and cozy. If it gets warm in the house, I can simply take off the denim jacket. Leggings are a must-have during this time of year. Who wants to wear tight jeans on the day where you’re allowed to eat all the food you want? Not me. So I kept it simple with leggings and mid-calf boots to go with this gorgeous dress.

OOTD: Creating an Outfit Around Shoes

And when you’re just trying to have fun while taking photos: BB111115-8

Shop the Look:

Top: Francesca’s (color no longer available, $24)

Leggings: Macy’s (currently on sale for $31.99)

Necklace: Charming Charlie (found on Amazon, $11.99)

Shoes: Stein Mart (no longer available)

Sunglasses: Francesca’s (no longer available $10)

Clutch: Macy’s ($19.99)

I wish these shoes were still available. I couldn’t find anything remotely similar to them online (trust me, I looked for at least two hours). As much as I love shoes, I don’t always have the right outfit to pair them with because they’re so unique.

Today, I decided that it was time to bring out the shoes I love, and make them work. I decided to create an outfit filled with color, so I opted for a dark-camel colored top with rhone colored leggings. The indigo/purple shoes definitely stand out in this look, which was my goal.

Sometimes, it’s fun to create an outfit around a statement necklace or a pair of shoes. It tests my creativity with fashion, so I plan to try this more often. This post was inspired by Chelsie from “Life with Rosie.” Make sure to check out her post on how she created a look around a pair of shoes. Thank you, Cheslie for the fashion inspiration!

OOTD: Patterns on Patterns

Booties: Old Navy ($42.94)

Necklace: Amzon ($9)

Watch: Fossil (Similar $135)

Bracelet: Alex and Ani ($28)

We need to branch out of our comfort zone when it comes to fashion.

I have a confession to make—patterns are out of my comfort zone. Especially if I have to complement different patterns together to make a cohesive, chic look.

But I’ve learned to not fear patterns because they are a gorgeous addition to a look, which is why I decided to create a look filled with colors and patterns. If I can overcome my fear of patterns, you can overcome whatever you fear in the fashion world.

I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, and learn how to incorporate those trends and styles into your daily look.
