15 Fun, Fall Date Ideas

Posted in Lifestyle
on October 5, 2016

It’s that time of year where we want to do everything and anything fall related. Today, I’m sharing some easy, fun fall dates ideas for you and your significant other. Do you have other date ideas I forgot to mention? Make sure to share your date ideas in the comments below!

One of the reasons why I love fall dates in particular is because there are so many festive options that you can only do during the season. So get your pen and paper ready to add these ideas to your fall bucket list for the month.

1| Apple Picking

Take some time to get that gram-worthy photo of you with your beautiful apples you picked with your significant other, and then go home to make a pie or homemade applesauce.

2| Go On A Hike

Another way you can enjoy the fall leaves and the perfect temperatures is with a hike. Pack a light picnic and enjoy it at the end of your hike.

3| Take Photos With Fall Foliage

This is perfect for all my blogging friends. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to take advantage of the gorgeous leaves and take some photos for your Instagram?

4| Have A Bonfire

What’s better than having a cool evening of bonfires, beers and some Smores? Nothing. So get your boyfriend and some couple friends for a bonfire on a crisp, cool night.

5| Visit Fall Festivals

I LOVE fall festivals, and I’m going to two this season! They’re perfect if you love hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin picking, apple cider donuts and more.

6| Carve Pumpkins

Take time to go through your local farms, and compete to find the best pumpkins. When you get home, you can see who comes up with the most creative design.

7| Go To A Haunted House/Hayride

I don’t like the feeling of being scared, but I don’t mind haunted hayrides or houses. Find your favorite one in your town for an easy, inexpensive date night.

8| Visit A Farmer’s Market

Get the most fresh fruits and vegetables you can find at your local farmer’s market. Take a bike ride into town and get all the best goods for some cooking.

9| Coffee Shop Hopping

Visit some local coffee shops in town for the best fall-themed drinks. See who has the best pumpkin spice latte, or caramel apple hot cider.

10| Watch Halloween Movies

I’m just saying, I currently have Halloweentown recorded, and I can’t wait to have a movie marathon with Josh and watch it. Have a lineup of your top movies for a night in.

11| Have A Bake Off

Use Pinterest to your advantage and look for the best pumpkin pie/bread/cake/cookie recipe and put your skills to the test with your boyfriend.

12| Visit A Corn Maze

I love going to corn mazes because they don’t cost a lot (most are even free), and it’s an easy way to get a little workout into your day date!

13| Go To A Football Game

Whether you have a local high school football team you support, or you visit a college game—grab some drinks and enjoy a game with big blankets and snacks.

14| Take A Scenic Drive

Take a coffee to go for a drive. Go somewhere you haven’t been, even if it’s a two-hour day trip. Enjoy the drive, explore a place you’ve never been, and take some photos, too.

15| Decorate Your Home

Make a day of DIY decorations, and buying inexpensive pieces for your home during fall. You’ll enjoy creating a festive home with someone you love.

Fall Skin Essentials

Posted in Beauty
on September 16, 2016

I try to update my skincare routine based on the seasons because the essentials I use in Spring and Summer are completely different from Fall and Winter. Make sure to leave a comment below telling me what your fall skincare essentials are! I want to thank Götz for sponsoring this post and sharing their product with me. Without it, I would have never known a difference one treatment could make to my skin.

1| Makeup Remover

I changed up my makeup remover for fall to an oil-based makeup remover that’s not so harsh on my skin, which is why I’ve been loving the boscia makeup-breakup cleansing oil. I would definitely recommend this if you want a remover that won’t irritate your skin and that will remove all your makeup easily.

2| Cleansers and Scrubs

Cetaphil’s face cleanser has been in my routine for five years and I’ve used Lush’s Cup o’ Coffee for over two years. I can say that both products are wonderful for fall. I treat my skin to a scrub because of the change in weather, but I don’t need to change my skin cleanser because it works well anytime of year. Both are great for normal to oily skin types.

3| Moisturizer

Another set of products I’ve used for more than five years is the DayWear collection from Estēe Lauder. I’ve tried other moisturizers and serums over the years, but I’ve found that this collection works best for fall. Both products are incredibly hydrating but they don’t leave my skin oily or feel weighed down.

4| Treatments

Another newer product I’ve been loving this oxygen facial tonic from Götz. This product balances excessive oils in your skin, without drying out my skin for fall. It also helps soothe redness from blemishes. Let’s be honest, we all have pimples from time to time, so it’s nice to have a product in stock that helps treat any blemishes fast.

After using the facial tonic for a month, I’ve noticed my pores are smaller, and I have less redness in the problem areas of my skin when I have breakouts. I love that it removes all impurities and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. If you’re interested in trying the product yourself, be sure to shop the facial tonic here!

Fall Makeup Routine 2015

Posted in Beauty
on October 26, 2015

Now that it’s fall, my makeup routine changes pretty drastically. I typically don’t wear any face makeup, and I don’t wear much eyeshadow or lipstick. In fall, I add a lot more steps in my daily makeup routine, which is why I decided to share the products I use on a regular basis.

Of course, I try not to wear a full face of makeup everyday because of time constraints, laziness, etc. But, I do switch out the majority of my makeup from spring and summer to fall and winter. Leave a comment below telling me your must-have makeup products for fall!

1. Benefit POREfessional Primer: $31

I never used primer before purchasing this from Benefit, now I refuse to wear BB cream or face makeup without it!

2. Revlon Photoready BB Cream: $9

I try not to spend a ton of money on face makeup because I don’t wear it every single day, so I stick to a BB cream.

3. Lancôme Concealer: $31

When I don’t want to wear a full face of makeup, I put concealer under my eyes, add a little mascara, and maybe a touch of lipstick for color and that’s it.

4. Elizabeth Arden Bronzer: (similar $30)

I wish I could find a more comparable bronzer. (And, I really wish this exact bronzer was available.) If you have any bronzer recommendations for winter, please leave a comment below!

5. Brow Pencil: (similar $7)

I don’t know how I lived without filling in my brows until college. Brow pencils are a necessity in my routine regardless of the season.

6. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer: $20

I have used this primer religiously for the last three years, and it’s still a staple in my routine.

7. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: $54 (colors used in look-Burnout, Trick and Mugshot)

I use this palette all-year long. As much as I love other palettes, I always come back to this one.

8. Lancôme Liquid Liner: $30

If you struggle with winged eyeliner, this makes it easy for anyone. Yes, I promise.

9. Lancôme Defincils Mascara: $27

This is my all-time favorite mascara, which I’ve been using for over a year now.

10. Lancôme Lipstick: $30 (color-244 Rose Amnesia)

I’ve been wearing this shade every single day since September 1. It’s warm, subtle and complements many different skin tones.
