5 Days of #BlissGifts [Day2]

bb112816_5-days-of-blissgifts8

Another day means another gift guide to make sure you have a little bliss this #blissmas while you’re shopping for everyone on your list. Today, we’re covering five gifts for the fashionista in your life who loves everything from jewelry to clothes.

1| Watch Set from Francesca’s, $34

I think it’s great to buy a watch gift set like this one because not only can you wear the watch on its own, but you can also pair it with several different bracelets to spice up her look for that particular day. It’s several pieces of jewelry in one gift, so you get your bang for your buck with this pick.

2| Crossbody Bag from DSW, $20

Crossbody bags are something that everyone can use whether they have one already or not. I always try to stick with neutral colors when giving gifts to a fellow Fashionista so that they can easily pair it with several things in their closet.

3| Blanket Scarf from Express, $40

Maybe it’s just me, but there’s no way you can ever go wrong with a big, heavy blanket scarf. Especially during the winter months, everyone can add a scarf or two into their collection to get through the rest of winter even after the holidays.

4| Poncho Sweater from LOFT, $75 (take an extra 40%)

This is a gift that’s perfect for the woman in your life whether they love quirky, festive Christmas sweaters, or they’re interested in a classic, trendy piece like this hybrid between a poncho and a traditional sweater. When in doubt, a sweater is always a good option for a Fashionista.

5| Statement Necklace from Francesca’s, $28

I feel like statement necklaces have been losing their hype over 2016 as we have seen chokers take over the fashion scene. But, I think it’s always good to keep your recipient in mind. If they’re trendy, buy a choker necklace. If they’re classic, buy a neutral, statement necklace.

Favorite Christmas Memories

BB122515-5

Merry Christmas, friends! I hope you’re all spending time with loved ones, eating delicious food, and enjoying the season. Today, I thought it would be fun to talk about some of my favorite Christmas memories.

What the Holidays were like growing up:

On Christmas Eve, all of my family would go to my aunt and uncle’s house for dinner and some gifts. After, my grandma and grandpa would spend the night, and we would all wake up early on Christmas at 5 a.m. to begin opening gifts, which takes at least three hours or more. Then, we’d prepare for all of our family to come to our house for dinner that day. “A Christmas Story” would be playing on TV all day long, and that’s a tradition that remains true today.

Seeing Trans-Siberian Orchestra and other musicals:

Last Christmas was the first time I saw TSO and I fell in love. For those who don’t know, I love musicals, plays and shows. They’re a great way to get into a feel-good mood whether it’s the holiday season or not. It’s definitely a show I’d recommend for those looking for a unique date idea, or a Christmas gift for your boyfriend!

My Favorite Gift/Least Favorite Gift:

When I was eight years old, I received a keyboard. In 2002, Avril Lavigne’s number one hit “Complicated” was on the list of songs you could learn to play. Yes, I still have it because it was the best gift I could ever get. I always loved music as a child, so it meant to much to me.

However, I did have one gift that gave me nightmares for the next five or more years. When I six, I remember asking my parents to get my an “Amazing Ally” doll. When I got it, it freaked me out. My brothers would tell me it’s haunted like Chuckie. Since then, I was off Amazing Ally and it needed to go.

One of my Most Memorable Gifts:

Last Christmas, my boyfriend bought me a Michael Kors bag. To some, this may not seem like a big deal, but I had never owned a designer bag before. To sum it up, there’s a video of my sobbing and refusing to unwrap it because it was so pretty. I remember repeating “I don’t deserve this bag” at least 10 times.

Favorite Christmas Foods:

During the holidays, we always have some staples foods on this one day each year: Honey-Glazed Ham, Christmas Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole and Italian Cookies. What I love about the holidays is that you can enjoy these special foods with loved ones.

Family Reunions:

During the first week of January, my papi’s side of the family gets together at an Italian restaurant in the city for an evening of food, fun and catching up with family. We typically see this side of my a few times throughout the year, so it’s nice to have everyone come together for a belated Christmas celebration.

Outdoor Fun:

Living in WNY, it’s normal to spend every day outside even in Winter. I remember sledding, building forts and snowmen with my brother and his friends, and having snowball fights. Let’s not forget the simple days before technology whisked away childhoods. I cherished these memories because it reminds me of a simpler life we all used to live. Now, we are buried in technology, which has become common. Cheers to the old days!

Winter Candle Haul

BB121515-1

For those who don’t know, I love candles. And there’s nothing better than the fall and winter collection of candles at Bath & Body Works. So, I participated in $8 candle day. I wanted to give you guys a look into the candles I purchased. Disclaimer: Some of these candles are for gifts—I promise I’m not a candle hoarder.

I’ll list the name of the candle along with the description, so you can see the combination of scents. Fun fact, my dream job would be to write out the descriptions on the bottom of Bath & Body Works’ candles.

Let’s get to the haul:

Dashing Through The Snow:

“Breathe in the crisp cool air of a holiday sleigh ride with a blend of green balsam, wintry musk and the jingle of sparkling citrus.”

Spiced Apple Toddy (x2):

“A sweet mixture of winter fruits, apple brandy & spiced plum to warm your holiday celebrations.”

Be Joyful:

“Let your heart be light with this blend of shimmering sugar, sparkling clementine and frosted jasmine in our most joyful fragrance ever!”

Cinnamon Caramel Swirl (x2):

“Freshly ground cinnamon enhances soft silky vanilla caramel in the sweet fragrance of a holiday treat.”

Winter:

“Pine needles, icy mandarin & winter woods capture the magic of glittering icicles & sparkling snow.”

Champagne Toast:

“Pop, clink & sparkle with an effervescent blend of champagne, juicy nectarine and blackcurrant.”

Frosted Cranberry (x2):

“The year’s first frost captured in white cranberry, juicy peach & ripe red raspberries.”

Joy “Peppermint Marshmallow:”

“Indulge in the fragrance of fluffy vanilla marshmallows, full of holiday sweetness and peppermint joy.”

‘Tis The Season:

“The rich, fruity scent of red apples, green pine & golden cider captures the joy of the season.”
