Holiday Home Tour 2016

Posted in Lifestyle
on December 14, 2016

It’s no secret that I love Christmas, which is why I’m sharing some of the holiday home decorations I have for this season. I love decorating for the holidays because it makes every night cozy and Christmasy. (Perfect if you’re watching Hallmark holiday movies like me every single night.) If you’re interested in seeing a little bit of my home, and how I decorated for the holidays, keep on scrolling!

I didn’t want to go overboard with decorating. Although Josh would tell you that we have “the most decorations for anyone our age.” Clearly, he hasn’t met several of my favorite bloggers who love Christmas just as much as I do!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some a little peak inside my home for the holidays!

5 Days of #BlissGifts [Day 4]

Posted in Lifestyle
on December 5, 2016

You all know a fellow #GirlBoss in your life whether she’s your best friend who began her own YouTube channel/blog; or a family member who started her own business. Whoever this fabulous lady is in your life, she deserves a few special gifts that she can use for planning projects, or taking a little time from a stressful week.

Planner from Francesca’s, $16

I know some people might be picky about choosing their own planners, but I also know many people who truly appreciate them as gifts! Francesca’s has some awesome picks that are inspirational, but aren’t too pricey They also have cute note pads and monthly calendar that are perfect for gifts, too!

Mug from Amazon, $13

The classic #GirlBoss mug. The only thing that would make it better is if it was a travel mug for when your Girl Boss friend/family member is running on the go. But who doesn’t love a mug to add to their own collection at home? Perfect for anyone who needs coffee to refuel for the day (who doesn’t?)

Copper wire bowel set from Francesca’s, $28

I love the idea of having baskets in the office for certain books and other office items because it’s a cute way to keep things on display in your office, and it keeps everything organized and sorted properly. If you rather go traditional with filing organizers, you can do that as well!

Neon pens from, $15

I love having a set of colored pens like this set from because it helps me organize things by category on my calendar. Meetings are in one color, events are a different color, reminders are another color, etc. If you want to give an awesome gift to your girl boss friend without breaking the bank—this is it!

#GirlBoss from Barnes & Noble, $10

Of course, how you can go wrong with the book that you friend or family member may or may not have read yet! If she wants to know the story of a fellow girl boss, this is the book you’re going to want to purchase for part of their gift!

Which gift was your favorite? What other items would you add to this list? Is there anyone on your list you need a #girlboss gift for? Make sure to share in the comments below!

Top 10 Holiday Movies

Posted in Lifestyle
on November 21, 2016

I know you don’t want to admit it, but for me—the holidays are officially here even if you choose to think differently. This means you can listen to Christmas music and watch holiday movies as much as you’d like without being judged. Since we have such a short amount of time to enjoy all these movies, I think it’s best to begin as soon as possible! Today I’m sharing my top 10 favorite holiday movies I have to watch every single year.

10| Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

There is no better classic than this holiday movie! I’ve always loved this movie growing up, so it’s still something I enjoy watching year after year. In fact, I named a deer that lives near our house after Cornelius from this movie!  (Maybe not the best fitting name for a deer, haha!)

9| It’s A Wonderful Life

A holiday movie that brings and reminds me that there are so many reasons to be thankful for where we are in life, and that we are here for a reason. If you love classic, traditional films; you need to make time for It’s a Wonderful Life as soon as possible.

8| A Christmas Carol

Another holiday movies that always makes me think each year I watch it. I love the older film in addition to the newer, animated film with Jim Carrey. Both versions are wonderful and definitely have several lessons we all should be reminded of during this time of year.

7| Frosty The Snowman

Another classic film I feel like you NEED to watch every holiday season is Frosty the Snowman. This easily brings me back to my childhood because I loved to sing and knew so many lines from this even when I was young.

6| How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Whether it’s the animated version or the Jim Carrey version, I think this is another movie you always have to play once a year during the holidays. Bring a little holiday cheer to your life, and pop in this film to take you right back to your childhood.

5| A Christmas Story

I know a ton of people are going to disagree with me on this one because they don’t see this as a “classic” Christmas movie. For me, it is because my family keeps this movie on all-day long on Christmas Day, so it is the epitome of Christmas in my eyes.

4| The Polar Express

It took me quite a long time before I watched this movie! I knew so many people who were in love with it a few years back, and I never knew what the hype was until I watched it. The soundtrack to this movie is incredible, and I love that it features Tom Hanks.

3| Home Alone

Josh might be a little disappointed that this movie isn’t number one on my list because it’s his personal favorite Christmas movie (and movie in general). He can literally recite every line. This movie is something my family would watch every year, so it’s a little sentimental to me around the holidays.

2| A Charlie Brown Christmas

If you can buy a “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree” based form this movie, it MUST be a good movie. I will say that nothing reminds me more of the holiday season than seeing this is on TV, and having hot chocolate while watching it.

1| Elf

You’ll either love me or hate me for this opinion, but I love Elf; and I know many more people who love it more than I do (I’m looking at you, Michele!) I love this funny, but festive film because it’s so different from every other Christmas movie. Plus, I’m a huge fan of Will Ferrell.

What other holiday movies should I add to this list? What’s your favorite holiday movie? Make sure to leave a comment below!

Favorite Christmas Memories

Posted in Lifestyle
on December 25, 2015

Merry Christmas, friends! I hope you’re all spending time with loved ones, eating delicious food, and enjoying the season. Today, I thought it would be fun to talk about some of my favorite Christmas memories.

What the Holidays were like growing up:

On Christmas Eve, all of my family would go to my aunt and uncle’s house for dinner and some gifts. After, my grandma and grandpa would spend the night, and we would all wake up early on Christmas at 5 a.m. to begin opening gifts, which takes at least three hours or more. Then, we’d prepare for all of our family to come to our house for dinner that day. “A Christmas Story” would be playing on TV all day long, and that’s a tradition that remains true today.

Seeing Trans-Siberian Orchestra and other musicals:

Last Christmas was the first time I saw TSO and I fell in love. For those who don’t know, I love musicals, plays and shows. They’re a great way to get into a feel-good mood whether it’s the holiday season or not. It’s definitely a show I’d recommend for those looking for a unique date idea, or a Christmas gift for your boyfriend!

My Favorite Gift/Least Favorite Gift:

When I was eight years old, I received a keyboard. In 2002, Avril Lavigne’s number one hit “Complicated” was on the list of songs you could learn to play. Yes, I still have it because it was the best gift I could ever get. I always loved music as a child, so it meant to much to me.

However, I did have one gift that gave me nightmares for the next five or more years. When I six, I remember asking my parents to get my an “Amazing Ally” doll. When I got it, it freaked me out. My brothers would tell me it’s haunted like Chuckie. Since then, I was off Amazing Ally and it needed to go.

One of my Most Memorable Gifts:

Last Christmas, my boyfriend bought me a Michael Kors bag. To some, this may not seem like a big deal, but I had never owned a designer bag before. To sum it up, there’s a video of my sobbing and refusing to unwrap it because it was so pretty. I remember repeating “I don’t deserve this bag” at least 10 times.

Favorite Christmas Foods:

During the holidays, we always have some staples foods on this one day each year: Honey-Glazed Ham, Christmas Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole and Italian Cookies. What I love about the holidays is that you can enjoy these special foods with loved ones.

Family Reunions:

During the first week of January, my papi’s side of the family gets together at an Italian restaurant in the city for an evening of food, fun and catching up with family. We typically see this side of my a few times throughout the year, so it’s nice to have everyone come together for a belated Christmas celebration.

Outdoor Fun:

Living in WNY, it’s normal to spend every day outside even in Winter. I remember sledding, building forts and snowmen with my brother and his friends, and having snowball fights. Let’s not forget the simple days before technology whisked away childhoods. I cherished these memories because it reminds me of a simpler life we all used to live. Now, we are buried in technology, which has become common. Cheers to the old days!
