5 Holy Grail Skincare Products That Will Change Your Skin

I’m all about skincare and sticking to a routine that works well for you. One of the things I love about beauty blogs is when they share products they use every single day that have benefitted their skin. I have been so happy with my skin over the last few years and I want to share my holy grail beauty products that have brought a lot of bliss to my life. So, keep reading if:

1| You’re looking to breathe new life to your skin.

2| Add new products that will help clear your skin for good.

3| Change your routine to feel good in your skin.

1| Cleanser: Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

I haven’t used a facial cleanser other than this one from Cetaphil for seven years; and my skin has thanked me for it. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something that will cleanse your skin without irritation. My pro skin tip: Only wash your face at night instead of twice a day. This has helped my skin even more because I’m not drying it out with excessive washing or water drying out my skin.

2| Serum: Estēe Lauder Pore-Minimizing Skin Refinisher

This Estēe Lauder duo I’ve mentioned so many times includes this serum and moisturizer below. Both have been used on my skin every. single. day for about seven years. This serum specifically has done wonders for my pores and been a skincare essential for me over the years. I’ve tried other products over the years, but nothing compares to this product!

3| Moisturizer: Estēe Lauder Day Wear Moisturizer

I always believe in investing in skincare products and investing in high-quality items that will truly benefit your skin in the long run. Make sure your moisturizer includes SPF in it and includes ingredients that will help your skin glow all year long. Trust me, it is worth investing in skincare products. Your future self will thank you.

4| Masks: Sephora Rose Sheet Mask & Boscia Black Mask

I’ve been using the Sephora Rose Sheet Mask for over two years now, and I truly love the results it gives my skin if I use it frequently, which is two or three times a month when my skin really needs a little more TLC. I know sheet masks aren’t for everyone, but when you use them often enough, you see a difference in your skin’s hydration and clarity altogether. And let’s be real, we all want glowing skin for spring and summer, right?

The Boscia Black Mask is something I’ve only used for a few months, but let me tell you—it’s worth mentioning in this list of essentials. I know I’ll be repurchasing this for years to come because of the results it gives to my nose and skin for unwanted blackheads and whiteheads. TBH no one wants those in their life, so keep your skin and pores extra clear with this product and you’ll love the changes to your skin.

5| Makeup Remover: Bi-Facil Makeup Remover

I have to thank my mom for getting me into my skincare routine with products from Estēe Lauder and Lancome because she taught me form a young age that you should invest in your skincare products. Even at her age, people easily think she is 10 or more years younger because of her glowing skin. I aspire to have her beauty and radiance at her age. This makeup remover is perfect after wearing a day of mascara, eyeliner and more. It takes everything away without feeling harsh on your skin or eyes, which is very important! Plus, a little goes a long way so you’ll definitely get your bang for your buck with this product.

5 Posts I Loved: October Edition

bb102416_5-posts-i-lovedoct
Another month has almost passed, which means it’s another opportunity to share some of the amazing blog posts I loved this month from fellow bloggers. If you’re new to Blissfully Brunette, you’ll see that I share links each month from blog posts I want to share with bloggers. I think it’s important to spread the love in the blogging community, so I try to do so any time I can. Make sure to leave a comment below sharing what YOUR favorite posts were from other bloggers from the month. Or, you can share your favorite post from your own blog!

Dear Brands, Bloggers Don’t Work For Free” from Summer

I’ll save the gushing and fangirling over Summer and quote my favorite piece from her post: “Bloggers are great at what they do. You, as a brand, clearly know that. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t keep reaching out and trying to get us to work with you. You know that we have influence. You also know deep down that our influence is huge for your brand. So, why don’t you start acknowledging our worth as bloggers (and people) and actually pay us the compensation we deserve.” If that didn’t make you want to check out her post, I don’t know what will. Summer has a way with words, and she did an amazing job of putting brands in their place. You go, girl!

How to Overcome Perfectionism and Accept Your Flaws” from Molly

stylemissmolly_9586_blog-1024x683Photo from StyleMissMolly.com

I have stumbled across Molly’s blog in the past, but her post earlier this month inspired me. Dealing with OCD and anxiety is something I work on every single day, but her post helped me realize that we all have flaws—and that’s perfectly okay. I read through her flaws and realized that her and I have almost ALL THE SAME FLAWS. She’s like my perfectionism soul sister. It’s amazing she was able to not only recognize her flaws, but post them online in a vulnerable space. Molly also provided some incredible tips on how to overcome perfectionism.

Organization Tips for Bloggers and Side Hustlers” from Erin

As someone who has a demanding, full-time job in addition to blogging—this post was so important for me to read this month. I’m sure there are many other people who are working full time and blogging can also to relate to this as well. If you’re someone who is working on a blog, a job, and balancing everything else in your life, I would definitely recommend reading this post from Erin! You won’t regret it!

Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe” from Becca

img_3004Photo from HappilyTheHicks.com

You all know that I’m all about pumpkin-flavored anything and everything during the fall season. I’ve been on the hunt for a PSL recipe to make at home, and I LOVED this recipe from Becca because it’s so simple and doesn’t take a lot of time or ingredients to create! If you’re looking for an inexpensive, easy recipe to have on hand when you’re craving a pumpkin spice latte, make sure to save this recipe for yourself.

Autumn Fashion Find: Fall Floral Dress” from Chelsie

Not only do I love Chelsie’s style and her fashion posts in general, but I love how she’s an honest and real fashion blogger. She’s not the type of person to have an outfit that’s over $300 because that’s simply not realistic for most people. But that’s what I love about Chelsie, she finds ways to make her fashion posts inspiring and unique without breaking the bank. I think that’s something we all can respect, especially if you’re someone who is trying to save money!

250+ More Things I Tossed After I Downsized” from Erin

I remember leaving a comment on one of Erin’s posts saying that her content always inspires me to push myself with my minimalism journey. Even after she has downsized the amount of stuff in her home, she still continues to remove clutter from her life. Although I’m no where near her level of minimalism, her posts (especially this one) are filled with inspiration to have you remove junk you don’t need in your home!

10 Self-Care Tips For Bloggers

bb92616_10self-care-tips-for-bloggers

Whether blogging is your full-time career, a side hustle, or a hobby—it’s important to give yourself some time for self care throughout the process. Today I’m sharing some self-care tips I practice as a blogger, and how you can incorporate them into your routine. For my fellow bloggers, you will be able to add a little bliss to your life knowing you’re balancing your blog and everything in between.

1| Don’t let blogging get in the way

By this I mean, don’t let blogging become your only focus. There is so much more to life than your blog. Don’t let it become priority over your children, spouse, family, friends or your well-being altogether. It’s important to love your blog and give it your all, but don’t lose track of the big picture. Remember to balance your blog, family, friends and time for yourself.

2| Step back when you’re stressed

If posting five days a week stresses you out, and you haven’t been able to sleep well for weeks on end—change your posting schedule to three time a week. If you have a lot going on in your personal life, take a step back from your blog and focus on what you need to focus on in your life. It’s okay to time when life becomes too much. Your readers will be forgiving!

3| Take social media breaks

I take my social media breaks on the weekends. For me, taking a break from social media is important because it can be the most stressful component of blogging. Having two or three days where you’re not worrying about Twitter chats, relevant hashtags, and creating gorgeous, Instagram-worthy content is helpful for your self-care routine as a blogger.

4| Unplug consistently

Whether you set an alarm for 8 p.m. and unplug, or you don’t go on social media at all two days a week—make sure you unplug from social media. Blogging isn’t just about writing posts and taking photos. It’s all-consuming with the addition of social media. Don’t feel like you need to be “on the clock” with social media seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Give yourself time when you unplug from the digital world completely and rest.

5| Be mindful and focused

When I talk about “mindfulness,” I ask that you are present when you’re blogging. Stay focused when you do set aside two hours for writing that new post you’re excited about. Don’t let your mind wander, play YouTube videos in the background. Have no distractions so that when you’re done blogging, you will feel accomplished and satisfied.

6| Have a schedule

Many bloggers work on their blog every day for more than eight hours a day because there are posts to write, photos to edit and social media content to create. Instead, focus on creating a schedule for blogging so that you’re not over-working yourself. For example, work from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on everything blogging-related, then give yourself time to focus on cooking, cleaning and other life commitments.

7| Stop comparing yourself

Don’t look at another blogger and play the comparison game. “She has such a beautiful Instagram theme. Maybe I don’t have as many followers because my theme isn’t like hers.” This is only one example, but there are so many ways you can compare yourself to other bloggers in the community. Remember, your blog, theme, and posts are completely original to what YOU want and that’s wonderful. Don’t compare yourself and put yourself down.

8|Schedule off-screen time

Between your laptop, iPhone, TV, etc. there is so much time we spend staring at a screen. Make sure you have time every day when you’re away from your electronics. Get outside for a walk, do a workout at home, read, go out for coffee with your friend, have a spontaneous date night, or visit family. Enjoy time offline and don’t forget to have a life outside of your blog.

9| Take time/days off

How many bloggers do something for their blog (even if it’s only 30 minutes of work) at some point during the day. You need time off. You deserve time off and you deserve a break from blogging. You won’t hard every day, and you need to let your mind recharge from its work. Schedule days off when you don’t work on your blog or stress about your blog either.

10|Take time for yourself

While you’re juggling your blog, work, family, friends, and everything else in life, don’t forget that you need time for YOURSELF! Schedule time for self care whether that’s treating yourself to a massage, creating a workout routine, or having a hobby you enjoy. Don’t forget to give yourself a little love because you’re doing great even if you don’t think you are. Remember that!

Fall Skin Essentials

bb91616_1

I try to update my skincare routine based on the seasons because the essentials I use in Spring and Summer are completely different from Fall and Winter. Make sure to leave a comment below telling me what your fall skincare essentials are! I want to thank Götz for sponsoring this post and sharing their product with me. Without it, I would have never known a difference one treatment could make to my skin.

1| Makeup Remover

I changed up my makeup remover for fall to an oil-based makeup remover that’s not so harsh on my skin, which is why I’ve been loving the boscia makeup-breakup cleansing oil. I would definitely recommend this if you want a remover that won’t irritate your skin and that will remove all your makeup easily.

2| Cleansers and Scrubs

Cetaphil’s face cleanser has been in my routine for five years and I’ve used Lush’s Cup o’ Coffee for over two years. I can say that both products are wonderful for fall. I treat my skin to a scrub because of the change in weather, but I don’t need to change my skin cleanser because it works well anytime of year. Both are great for normal to oily skin types.

3| Moisturizer

Another set of products I’ve used for more than five years is the DayWear collection from Estēe Lauder. I’ve tried other moisturizers and serums over the years, but I’ve found that this collection works best for fall. Both products are incredibly hydrating but they don’t leave my skin oily or feel weighed down.

4| Treatments

Another newer product I’ve been loving this oxygen facial tonic from Götz. This product balances excessive oils in your skin, without drying out my skin for fall. It also helps soothe redness from blemishes. Let’s be honest, we all have pimples from time to time, so it’s nice to have a product in stock that helps treat any blemishes fast.

bb91616_3

After using the facial tonic for a month, I’ve noticed my pores are smaller, and I have less redness in the problem areas of my skin when I have breakouts. I love that it removes all impurities and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. If you’re interested in trying the product yourself, be sure to shop the facial tonic here!

What products have you been loving recently for your skincare routine? Leave a comment below so I can check them out!
