Top 5 Holiday Candles

Posted in Lifestyle
on November 14, 2016

For those who don’t know, I love everything related to the holiday season, which also includes all the amazing seasonal candles from Bath and Body Works. So naturally around this time of year, I take advantage of the November deals for candles, and make sure to make a decent online purchase for the holidays. While I’m waiting for my package, I wanted to share my favorite candles for the holiday season.

1| Winter

When you read that there are clementines in this candle, you’re probably going to think it won’t be a good mix. But I promise that the this candle smells of everything Christmas that you will love. I personally love the notes of white woods and pine needles.

2| Fresh Balsam

The smell of this candle reminds me so much of being at the spa, which is perfect for a time of year that can be a little stressful with all the to-do lists for the holidays. Notes of balsam, cedarwood and eucalyptus blend together to create a winter, spa-like aroma in your home.

3| Marshmallow Fireside

This is personally my favorite candle from Bath and Body Works from their holiday collection, and it has been for quite some time. I’m a person who loved marshmallow, and the combination of it with vanilla and amber notes brings together a perfect scent for winter.

4| Frosted Cranberry

If you’re more into the sweeter scents are the holidays, I would definitely recommend Frosted Cranberry. This candle is straight-forward with notes of cranberry and apple notes. However, it isn’t too sweet of a scent with two fruits in the blend.

5| Spiced Gingerbread

I was first worried about this candle (which I don’t remember from last year) because I thought it would be too strong with nutmeg and cinnamon scents. But I am so happy to say that the vanilla notes makes the candle much more appealing and a little less overwhelming to smell. Trust me, you’ll want to pick this scent up for the holiday season!

Winter Candle Haul

Posted in Lifestyle
on December 18, 2015

For those who don’t know, I love candles. And there’s nothing better than the fall and winter collection of candles at Bath & Body Works. So, I participated in $8 candle day. I wanted to give you guys a look into the candles I purchased. Disclaimer: Some of these candles are for gifts—I promise I’m not a candle hoarder.

I’ll list the name of the candle along with the description, so you can see the combination of scents. Fun fact, my dream job would be to write out the descriptions on the bottom of Bath & Body Works’ candles.

Let’s get to the haul:

Dashing Through The Snow:

“Breathe in the crisp cool air of a holiday sleigh ride with a blend of green balsam, wintry musk and the jingle of sparkling citrus.”

Spiced Apple Toddy (x2):

“A sweet mixture of winter fruits, apple brandy & spiced plum to warm your holiday celebrations.”

Be Joyful:

“Let your heart be light with this blend of shimmering sugar, sparkling clementine and frosted jasmine in our most joyful fragrance ever!”

Cinnamon Caramel Swirl (x2):

“Freshly ground cinnamon enhances soft silky vanilla caramel in the sweet fragrance of a holiday treat.”

“Pine needles, icy mandarin & winter woods capture the magic of glittering icicles & sparkling snow.”

Champagne Toast:

“Pop, clink & sparkle with an effervescent blend of champagne, juicy nectarine and blackcurrant.”

Frosted Cranberry (x2):

“The year’s first frost captured in white cranberry, juicy peach & ripe red raspberries.”

Joy “Peppermint Marshmallow:”

“Indulge in the fragrance of fluffy vanilla marshmallows, full of holiday sweetness and peppermint joy.”

‘Tis The Season:

“The rich, fruity scent of red apples, green pine & golden cider captures the joy of the season.”

Fall Haul: francesca’s, Bath & Body Works + Lush!

Posted in Beauty, Fashion
on August 31, 2015

I am very excited for fall and beginning a new chapter in my life. Although I’m apprehensive about finishing grad school in six months, and I know it will be a lot of work—it will be worth it in the end.

I recently purchased some clothing, accessories, candles and body products to begin the school year. Everything purchased from Francesca’s was 50 percent off, however I listed the retail price in the post.

Clothing and Accessories: Francesca’s Collection

I wanted to buy some clothes and accessories I could transition from class to work on any given day. A priority was that they’re comfortable and versatile to pair with accessories. I went a little crazy at Francesca’s because of the 50 percent off deal. Don’t worry, I didn’t spend the $300+ dollars it looks like I spent.

Karima Printed Dress ($44)

Janae Printed Dress ($44)

Jennie Printed Blouse ($38)

Verity Printed Blouse ($38)

Blanket Scarf ($34)

Violet Ray Triple Compartment Satchel ($58)

Cindy Crochet Boot Cuffs ($14)

Candles: Bath & Body Works

So we all know  candles are a weakness of mine (and so is the fall season altogether), so I decided to take advantage of the two for $22 deal at Bath & Body Works. I cannot wait to burn them and buy more products for fall.

Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow ($22.50)

Marshmallow Fireside ($22.50)

Body Products: Lush

I haven’t been to Lush in quite sometime, so I thought I would treat myself to two new products to try for back to school. I love this store and I plan to stop back in the near future for some bath products, but I picked two products I knew I would love.

Cup o’ Coffee ($10.95)

Soft Coeur Massage Bar ($8.95)

Fall Wish List

Posted in Beauty, Fashion
on August 24, 2015

  1. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow; 2. Hat;

3. Skirt; 4. Booties; 5. Layered look; 6. Wrap.

Although I am probably two weeks too early to write this post, I can’t help but feel excited for fall. Fall is my favorite time of the year because I love the changes in the weather, in fashion and everything else. Today I’m sharing my wish list and essentials I’m hunting for this fall.

1. Fall Bath & Body Works products:

I speak for everyone when I say the fall collection at Bath & Body Works is ALWAYS on point every  year. I splurge on at least eight candles and two sets of the body products for fall. If you couldn’t tell, I am obsessed and there will be a fall bath and body works haul in the near future.

2. Hats:

Normally, I wear beanies in the winter and that’s the extent of my hat collection. I recently purchased a hat similar to the one pictured above, and I can’t wait to pair it with outfits for fall. I love that you can easily dress up an outfit with a hat, or you can pair it with a casual look, too.

3. Long midi skirts

I own minimal skirts in my wardrobe, but I want to expand my collection. If you missed my post last Wednesday, I talked about stepping out of your fashion comfort zone. I don’t wear tight clothing often, so I made it a mission to feel confident enough to try something new.

4. Booties:

Booties are the ultimate essential for this season. Whether you wear them with skirts, leggings, denim or dresses, there is a pair of booties for any look for fall. I’m working on finding a black pair with chunky heels. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

5. Layered looks:

Any layered look is an essential for me during fall. I love this look featured at Old Navy with a comfy sweater, a button-down top and skirt. These are the looks I live for during this season. I always look forward to creating new looks with my wardrobe!

6. Wraps:

Wraps are versatile throughout the season and will keep you warm during football games and apple picking. I love having a big collection of scarves and wraps. I wear them at least twice a week during fall, and I’m sure this year will be no different.
