4. Makeup Bag: Forever 21 | Face Mask: Target

You may have heard of Galentine’s Day, which is a play off of Valentine’s Day except you get to spend the day with your best friends. Honestly, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend February 14th. So, I decided to create a list of cute, inexpensive gifts you can give to your besties in honor of this day.

I created a theme with little gifts that you can put in a makeup bag. The bag I chose from Forever 21 is only $6! I added small things like themed earrings, a face mask, a small candle and some lip balm. It’s the perfect way to gift all these items to your friends. The entire gift itself is less than $35 dollars. Of course, you can opt for one or two of the gifts if you have a large friend group!

So, I’m sure you’re wondering how you should celebrate Galentine’s Day with your friends. Here are some of my favorite ways to spend a girl’s night in on February 14th!

Pamper Night:

Go all out and treat yourself to a pamper session. Whether you buy face masks or look up DIY recipes to make yourself, you’ll appreciate the much needed TLC. Make sure you have plenty of nail polish and essential oils to share with your friends!

Wine & Chick Flicks:

What better way to spend time with your friends than bottles of wine and line up of hilarious movies (I always recommend Bridesmaids and 27 Dresses.) Or, you can create your own cocktails for the night as well! I’m definitely interested in this Sweet Strawberry Sangria!

Order Food In:

Instead of going out for sushi, have the sushi come to you! For those who don’t know, sushi is one of my favorite foods to eat—plus, it won’t be heavy meal like pizza or Chinese food. You can also opt to make your own sushi at home if you have the tools and ingredients to do it!

Get Crafty:

If there’s an opportunity to get creative, I’m always on board. You and your friends can search Pinterest for DIY projects to do at home. I’m personally loving the idea of this coffee mug or this heart wall decor! Choose projects that are simple and inexpensive so you don’t break the bank.

Baking Party:

If you and your friends have a sweet tooth, you’ll love a baking party. Each friend brings ingredients and a recipe for a different dessert, and you all make them. After, everyone gets a little of each dessert to bring home! Need some inspiration? Try this Champagne & Raspberry Cupcakes recipe.

Play Games:

Some of the best memories I have are when my friends and I get together to play Cards Against Humanity or Scattergories. Go old school by bringing out some of your favorite games. You won’t believe how much fun you’ll have—it’s the little things in life!

    What fun ideas! Thank you!

  • Love your ideas! You can’t go wrong with pampering!

    • I agree! Pampering never hurt anyone 🙂 Thanks for your comment!

  • I love this! I’m hosting a girls night in for Galentine’s Day. We’re doing a my favorite things party including some pampering.

    • I didn’t consider a favorite things party! That’s an awesome idea to incorporate into your Galentine’s Day event! I’ll definitely consider that when my friends are in town:)

  • I love this idea!!! Sounds like so much more fun than going out to eat in a restaurant and waiting hours on end.

    • Thank you, Kristin! As much as I love going out to eat or going out for drinks, it can get old spending all that money. So why not cut some costs, stay inside and still have a good time?! Glad to hear you enjoyed this post!

  • A baking party sounds so fun!!! I will have to do some of these with my roommates. Great ideas!

    • Thanks so much for your comment, Kimberly! My friends and I love baking, so this is something we do a lot. We schedule a long walk afterwards because we feel so guilty for eating so many desserts, haha!

  • I had an awesome Mom’s Night In recently. We all made tamales together. This Friday I’m going to a private painting party at someone’s house!

    • That’s so awesome! A private painting party would be so much fun! So glad to hear there are great opportunities to have a fun night in with friends 🙂

  • So many cute ideas! My husband is a police officer in the Marine Corps and unfortunately, he had to work last year (we’ve actually never been able to spend a Valentine’s Day together!). So since my husband and all of my friend’s husband were all working that night, my girlfriends and I all went out to dinner for our own little celebration. It was so much fun to get dressed up and go out with them, but I definitely would have preferred to spend it with my husband lol

    • I understand! My boyfriend and I have been long distance for two years, so spending Valentine’s Day together isn’t a priority (we actually don’t celebrate it for other reasons). But I definitely love spending time with my friends who also live several hours away! It’s a great time to get together for a girl’s weekend!

  • I love the idea of celebrating friends on Galentine’s Day. My husband and I have kind of blown it off as an overrated commercial holiday, but these little gifts would be perfect. Who doesn’t love macarons?

    • Yes! I completely agree with you, Tara! There is an upcoming post on why my boyfriend and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day–hope you’ll enjoy/relate to it a little bit yourself!

  • Love the candle and the cute macaroon lip balms.

    xoxo, Jenny

  • Those macaron lip balms are so cute!

    • Thanks, Dana! I was so excited when I found them! I may have pick some up for myself, too 🙂

  • great picks!

  • Love your pics, especially the macarons! That’s the perfect gift to give a girlfriend.

    • I love macarons in general, so when I found these–I was way to excited to not purchase them!
