Friday Favorites: (2.12.16)

I didn’t realize how difficult it is to choose five posts each week as my favorites. I read a ton of blogs throughout the week, so I’m always inspired by bloggers. Every time I read an interesting post (which happens around 30+ times a week) I’m thinking, ‘Wow, I need to add that to my list.’ But I know I can’t write up a post of 30 articles for the week. Needless to say, I’ve been struggling to choose my favorites.

Here is what I’ve narrowed down my list to after hours of reading.

“The Happy + Healthiest You” by Rachel:


Sometimes, we need those reminders about self care. I’m realizing that I need to take care of myself more and Rachel’s post was my mini, wake-up call. Although I don’t consider myself unhealthy, I know I can do much better than I’m doing now, which is why I’m focusing on my diet and focusing on doing the things I love most like writing and reading for fun. I try to schedule at least 45 minutes each day for those activities. I also need to focus on working out more…and I’m slowly getting there.

“How to De-Clutter Your Closet” from Katy Rose:

For those who don’t know, 2015 was the year that I got rid of a TON of things. After graduating college and moving back home to finish gad school, I had way too much stuff. I love reading articles like this because they inspire me to continuously get rid of things I don’t need. After reading Katy’s article I filled up a second garbage bag of clothes to be donated! I also love how she poses questions you should ask while going through each piece of clothing.

“Valentine’s Day Gift Guide” from Taylor:

Sometimes, you need to get inspired in order to treat yourself. For those who read my post on Monday, my boyfriend and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself to a few gifts! After reading Taylor’s post, I did a little shopping for myself and bought some nail polish, a cute pair of flats and a few small gifts for my best friends. We celebrate Galentine’s Day as a way to get together for a day or two. Remember to treat yourself to something this weekend!

“10 Reasons Why I Obsess Over Your Blog” from Chelsie:

I always love Chelsie’s content, but I was a little biased this week when reading her posts. Chelsie included me in the mix of awesome bloggers that I look up to. Needless to say, I was in tears of joy reading through her post. It might sound cheesy, but when a blogger you look up to recognizes you, it’s a good feeling. If you’re looking for good examples of what to do for your blog, give this a read!

“From 0 – 10k in One Year: How to Grow Your Instagram Following from Christine:


I’m not going to lie folks, I’m very clueless when it comes to Instagram. There’s not much consistency on my feed, and I don’t know my I want my “brand” or “ascetic” to be. It’s essentially a walking disaster.  Christine points out so many awesome tips in this post and how to authentically grow your following. I definitely want to use these tips over the year to grow my account as well!
