Festival Fashion Inspiration

I don’t know about you guys, but festival fashion isn’t my style. I wish it was my style, but it’s not.

So you’re probably wondering why I’m sharing a post on festival-inspired fashion.

To be honest, when I see in photos from Coachella, or Coachella-themed videos on YouTube—I’m always envious of the people who can pull off looks full of fringe, distressed denim and all things bohemian.

Me, on the other hand, my style is simple, classic, and sometimes a little quirky. The bohemian style isn’t “me.” And, that’s okay. It doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a style outside of my personal style.

Since festival season is right around the corner, I decided to create a post sharing outfits I feel embodies all things festival, bohemian and more.

Even if you’re not into music festivals, which I completely understand, you still might find some inspiration in this post for your summer wardrobe!

Bralette: American Eagle ($15.95) | Bag: Francesca’s ($24) |

Shorts: American Eagle ($39.95) | Sandals: Francesca’s ($38 )

What I love about this look is that you can easily recreate it with pieces you already own in your closet. All you need is a comfortable pair of shorts, a crop top, sandals, and a small bag. I decided to choose a pair of sandals that are colorful and fun. This look completely embraces a festival vibe. The only thing you’re missing are some flash tattoos and a flower crown.BB4616-2

Dress: American Eagle ($49.95) | Sandals: DSW ($39.95) | Backpack: DSW ($26.94)

If you’ve been reading posts on my blog for while, you’ll know that I’m all about the neutrals. When in doubt, I always gravitate towards blacks and grays. I honestly don’t mind this outfit in general, even though the shoes would be a little out of my comfort zone. I could see this outfit working perfectly for a summer day shopping downtown.

What’s your personal style? Have you ever been to a music festival, or are you planning to attend on in the future? Make sure to leave a comment below!

  • I know exactly what you mean – expect I LOVE the festival style, but I’m just not sure I embody it, if that makes sense? But that doesn’t mean I can’t drool over the looks! Great choices 🙂

    • Thank you so much! I love the bohemian style, but I don’t think it represents me as a person and my style, which is what I think you were also trying to say! But, you’re right–you can definitely drool over all the looks on Instagram and Pinterest!

  • Those first pair of sandals are so pretty! I love the colors!

    • I love them, too! I love anything bright and multi-colored. I feel like you could wear those sandals with so many different outfits.

  • I am the same way! I love the bohemian style, but it isn’t my personal style. My style is more “preppy” I guess you would say. At least that’s what Pinterest says.

    • Pinterest can tell you anything and everything about your style! I love classic pieces that will always be in style, but I love the uniqueness of the bohemian look. Thanks so much for your comment, Erin!

  • Bree Hogan

Love the first pair of sandals I would totally wear them all through the summer months!

    • The colors would definitely make a statement with whatever outfit your wear during summer! Thanks for your comment, Bree!

  • I LOVE the first outfit – aside from the sandals. American Eagle’s shorts are the best short you’ll ever buy. They’re so comfy. I love bralettes, too. They’re the perfect piece to put under a flowy tank or t-shirt!

    • Thanks so much for your comment, Summer! Bralettes are so fun for summer because they’re so comfortable and easy to pair with tops. I need to get to American Eagle to buy shorts for this summer because I currently don’t have any! Glad to hear you love them so much!

      • They’re amazing. I’m not a huge denim fan, because it’s uncomfortable. These shorts (and jeans) are comfortable, soft, and stretchy!

        • I used to wear AE jeans religiously in high school. Then college came, and I developed curves and gained weight. I was discouraged about not being the same size as I was in high school. Thankfully, I got over myself and I don’t really care about numbers anymore. It’s hard being a women because I can be a size 4 in jeans from Loft, but a size 8 at American Eagle. It’s absurd! haha. Thanks for letting me know, Summer!

          • I feel ya! American Eagle Jeans are the only ones that fit me great. My height has always been an issue (only being 4’11” haha), but I love that in some of their jeans they have the option to wear them in ‘short’ which is usually just what I need!

  • Donnica Smalls

I’m excited for festival season. The bohemian style is not really my look, but I love to incorporate elements of it into my everyday wear. I love all of the items here, but those DSW sandals are so cool.

    • Exactly! I think there are easy ways to fit some of pieces from this style into your own personal style. Thanks so much for your comment!
