5 Posts I Loved: September Edition

bb10316_septemberpostsiloved

Another month has passed, which means I’m sharing five posts I loved in September. Most of these posts are from new bloggers I’ve stumbled across on social media, groups, and more! So I’m happy to say I’ve found so many new, wonderful bloggers to add to my daily reading list.

Real Talk: Life Post Graduation” from Rachel

If you’re a recent college graduate who feels like they’re not moving forward with their future, please take a few minutes to read Rachel’s post. I was absolutely in love with how she shared her experience of “standing still” after graduation. If you’re not at the job you want to be at, and don’t feel good enough because you’re not moving forward—you need to read this! You will love it, and you will find that it’s okay to stand still and wait for the right opportunity.

250+ More Things I Tossed After I Downsized” from Erin

I remember leaving a comment on one of Erin’s posts saying that her content always inspires me to push myself with my minimalism journey. Even after she has downsized the amount of stuff in her home, she still continues to remove clutter from her life. Although I’m no where near her level of minimalism, her posts (especially this one) are filled with inspiration to have you remove junk you don’t need in your home!

10 Ways to Feel Beautiful Right Now” from Lucie

Sometimes, you simply don’t feel your best; and that’s perfectly okay because we aren’t perfect. If you’re in need of a pick-me-up post to make you smile and feel a little bit better about yourself, read these 10 tips from Lucie. Whether you decide to dance it out, or appreciate your flaws—you’ll love the feel-good advice from Lucie.

Things to do at the Start of Every Month to Stay Organized” from Erin

I love reading content that’s related to organization, minimalism, and everything in between. Erin shared things I never considered in my routine for a new month like budget or finance goals for each month. Since I’m working on saving money, this is a great way to stay on top of it. She gives similar tips for meal planning, fitness goal setting, etc. If you want to have a stress-free and a fully-organized month, read her post!

The Dos & Dont’s For Layering This Fall” from Taylor

Let’s be honest, fall fashion is the best fashion, and you need to know how you should layer your looks properly this season with a few tips from Taylor. Should you go a size up in a bomber jacket? (The answer is yes!) Make sure to read Taylor’s list of dos and don’ts as you start shifting your wardrobe from summer to fall. You’ll love her tips and advice as the weather cools off this season.

Fall Skin Essentials

bb91616_1

I try to update my skincare routine based on the seasons because the essentials I use in Spring and Summer are completely different from Fall and Winter. Make sure to leave a comment below telling me what your fall skincare essentials are! I want to thank Götz for sponsoring this post and sharing their product with me. Without it, I would have never known a difference one treatment could make to my skin.

1| Makeup Remover

I changed up my makeup remover for fall to an oil-based makeup remover that’s not so harsh on my skin, which is why I’ve been loving the boscia makeup-breakup cleansing oil. I would definitely recommend this if you want a remover that won’t irritate your skin and that will remove all your makeup easily.

2| Cleansers and Scrubs

Cetaphil’s face cleanser has been in my routine for five years and I’ve used Lush’s Cup o’ Coffee for over two years. I can say that both products are wonderful for fall. I treat my skin to a scrub because of the change in weather, but I don’t need to change my skin cleanser because it works well anytime of year. Both are great for normal to oily skin types.

3| Moisturizer

Another set of products I’ve used for more than five years is the DayWear collection from Estēe Lauder. I’ve tried other moisturizers and serums over the years, but I’ve found that this collection works best for fall. Both products are incredibly hydrating but they don’t leave my skin oily or feel weighed down.

4| Treatments

Another newer product I’ve been loving this oxygen facial tonic from Götz. This product balances excessive oils in your skin, without drying out my skin for fall. It also helps soothe redness from blemishes. Let’s be honest, we all have pimples from time to time, so it’s nice to have a product in stock that helps treat any blemishes fast.

After using the facial tonic for a month, I’ve noticed my pores are smaller, and I have less redness in the problem areas of my skin when I have breakouts. I love that it removes all impurities and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. If you’re interested in trying the product yourself, be sure to shop the facial tonic here!

5 Easy Beauty DIYs Using Honey

BB91416_5 Beauty DIYs Using Honey

It’s been quite some time since I’ve talked about some beauty DIYs. Once in awhile, I notice my skin, hair, etc. need a little extra TLC from the change in weather, and I know I have better results when I use all natural products like honey, coconut oil, and other natural ingredients.

The best part about these beauty DIYs is that you can easily make them at home with very little time and effort. I don’t know about you, but I love DIYs are that effective and simple.

Honey has so many wonderful properties for your skin and hair. It replenishes hydration and helps to heal any acne, scarring, etc. on your skin. If you want to treat your skin weekly, you can simply rub raw honey into your skin instead of washing your face in the morning or evening. It gives your skin a break from chemicals in face wash, and it helps soothe, clean, and treat your skin.

1| Hair Mask

Ingredients: Honey and Coconut Oil.

This treatment will hydrate your hair, repair some damage from hot tools, and it will give your hair extra shine! If your hair has been looking dull and lifeless like mine (tbh it’s not pretty) I would definitely recommend it.

2| Brightening Face Scrub

Ingredients: Honey, One Lemon, and Sugar.

I have been using lemon so much from drinking hot water with lemon in the morning, to making this DIY for a skin-brightening, face scrub. You only need three ingredients to create a scrub that will brighten your skin after a few treatments.

3| Cuticle Treatment

Ingredients: Honey, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Coconut Oil.

I don’t know about you guys, but I need to take better care of my nails! My nails and cuticles have been horrible recently because I don’t have time to keep up with them weekly. So, I treat myself to a little treatment every other week to keep them moisturized and maintained.

4| Sunburn Treatment

Ingredients: Honey and Aloe Vera.

Awhile back, I fell asleep outside for almost an hour without any sun protection. When I woke up—I had two lines of sunburn. I knew aloe vera and ice were essentials, but combining honey and aloe vera is helpful for relieving your skin. I would definitely recommend this if you experience sunburn.

5| Coffee Body Scrub

Ingredients: Honey, Coffee Grounds, Olive Oil, and Brown Sugar.

You all know how much I love to use body scrubs on a weekly basis. Recently, I’ve been taking a break from Lush’s Cup O’ Coffee to create a simple, DIY version myself. You only need a few ingredients to give your skin the treatment it deserves. This will remove dead skin cells and soften your skin.

I hope this gave you a little inspiration to try a new DIY treatment for your hair, skin, etc. Make sure to leave a comment if you try any of these DIYs, or if you have a different DIY you want to share.

1| Garrison + Body Charcoal Scrub

I found this scrub at my local Marshalls and I LOVE it. Although I still love my Cup O’Coffee from Lush for my face, this charcoal scrub works wonders for my body. I’ve gotten into the habit of exfoliating my skin at least once a week, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in how soft my skin is. And it’s only $5.99 for 19 oz. You can’t go wrong with this inexpensive and effective scrub!

2| Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

If you’ve been around, you know that I have had an issue with finding an eye makeup remover that won’t irritate my eyes. I’ve tried some off-brands eye makeup remover—and needless to say, it wasn’t pretty whatsoever. At a recent trip to Sephora, one of the associates recommended this product from boscia, and I’ve been in love with it ever since because it removes all my eye makeup without any irritation. If you have sensitive eyes, I would recommend this for you.

3| Lush Damaged Hot Oil Treatment

As much as I love my DIY coconut oil hair treatments, I thought it would be good to try this Lush hot oil treatment. What’s awesome about this product is that you get at least three treatments out of one small bar. All you do is heat up the oil to melt it, and then place the remainder in the fridge and use as necessary. I would recommend using the “Damaged” treatment twice a month for best results.

4| Tony Moly Pomegranate Sheet Mask

I have been using sheet masks regularly for over a year now, and I love the results of my skin consistently. A few months ago, I posted a Battle of the Sheet Masks post between Sephora and Tony Moly. You read the post to see which brand won. I have been loving the results of using the Pomegranate sheet mask and the Seawood sheet mask from this brand.

5| Lush Bath Oil

I know everyone loves Lush bath bombs and bubble bars, but they recently came out with these bath oils that are natural butters with essential oils that melt into the water and into your skin. You can add in supplementary bath bombs or bubble bars, but I love the results of simply using the bath oil. I picked up Floating Island, which has sandalwood and vanilla bean. It leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed.
