I’ve never done one of these posts before, but I’ve loved reading other blogger’s posts on their monthly goals and reviews of their previous month. I think it’s an amazing way to keep track of your goals each month, and to keep yourself accountable throughout the month ahead. September Goals:

Blogging Related:

1| Prep all posts two weeks in advanced

I’ve always been good with prepping posts, but I want to step it up and plan all my posts at least two weeks in advanced. Then, I’m never going to stress about a post or photo needing to be done last minute before I publish. It will definitely help me keep calm and not have blogging take up too much of my time each day.

2| Participate in two Twitter chats

I have been rubbish with participating in Twitter chats over the last few months, and that is definitely going to change in September. My goal is to participate in at least two Twitter chats. I know I should be doing more in one month, but I’m starting off small on this one guys. P.S. what is your favorite blogging-related Twitter chat you participate in?

3| Write 10-12 posts this month

When I began my full-time job back in May, I had to cut down from three posts a week to two. Blogging became time-consuming and I was in a creative rut back then. Now that I’ve been more inspired to write, I want to up my average number of posts from eight or 10 posts to 12 posts. I know it’s not a huge jump, but I’ll add two extra this month, and increase to three or four more next month.

4| Focus on Instagram

I’m a blogger and I suck at Instagram. When I’m writing great posts on my blog, my social media tends to fall to the wayside. It also doesn’t help I work some weekends, so I don’t have a lot of time to shoot/edit/prep photos and content for Instagram. But, my goal is to develop a solid theme, participate in Instagram conversations and put myself and my blogging out there for the world to see. Wish me luck! 1| Read two books

I’ve been trying to read the same book for the last month, and it’s killing me that I don’t make time for reading like I used to. I will admit that my love for Breaking Bad took over my life for most of July and August, but I am promising myself to get back on track with reading and read two books this month! What books have you been reading that you love!?

2| Run/Walk 4-5 miles twice a week

Josh and I have been running/walking intervals twice a week for the last few months. I finally feel comfortable to up our regular three mile workout to four or five miles for this month. We have been working hard to go at least twice a week in addition to hiking and walking on the weekends; and I think we’re ready to up our workout time now that we have been working at it consistently.

3| Focus on toning

Because of how much I have been focusing on running and interval training, toning has been nonexistent for me. My goal is to complete a 30-minute, total-body toning exercise at least twice a week for the month of September. This might be a little hard for me since I have a busy month ahead, but I’m determined to make it work the best that I can. 4| Practice Italian

I’ve been studying and practicing Italian daily for 20 minutes in my spare time. At first, I was great with practicing seven days a week, but as life got busyβ€”this became less of a priority for me. I love language so much, so I want to focus on practicing again. My goal is to practice for 20 minutes a day, four or five times a week.


1| Go on a beauty and fashion spending freeze

I was quite successful with not spending any money on beauty or fashion items throughout the month of August simply because I didn’t need anything, so I didn’t have to try at this. I saw what a difference my savings were for the month, so I’m hoping to do the same for September as well. However, if it’s an item that’s a necessity like deodorant, etc. I will allow myself to purchase it.

2| Save more on groceries

Groceries can be very expensive. When you’re not tracking your spending on groceries, you could be spending a lot more than you think. Recently, I’ve noticed that I’ve been buying unnecessary items each week, so my goal for this month is to only focus on necessities. This way, I’ll eat a simple, healthy diet and remove more proceed foods from my diet, too!

3| Track my spending for the month

Josh is great at keep track of his spending and savings each month on an excel spreadsheet. I admire how diligent he is with his savings at a young age, and I’m hoping to do the same with my savings account as well by tracking every cent I spend and save this month. My goal is for this to become a regular habit by the end of the month.

    These are great goals! I used to be crazy with my instagram, but I feel like I’ve definitely fallen behind lately. That’s probably going to be a big goal of mine this upcoming month. And i’ve never participated in a Twitter chat before. I guess I should get to work on that!

  • I definitely want to do the first one too! Also, with my instagram, I try to take a bunch of photos all in one day/weekend and then I space it out or scheduling. It really helps that way when I’m not feeling inspired I have some photos to pull from for posting.
