A new month means a new post on 10 things I’m looking forward to in the upcoming month! I’m happy to share that there are a ton of other exciting things happening in my life. If you missed last week’s post where I talk about the new changes happening this month, you can read all about it here.
For those who are new to this monthly post, allow me to explain. At the beginning of each month, I share 10 things that I am thankful for with that particular month. I have always been a big believer in expressing gratitude—even for the things. So, I decided to make it a monthly post on the blog.
I couldn’t mean this more literally. I love when it rains in spring. There’s nothing better than hearing the sound of a thunderstorm during the day. The only thing better than the sound of rain is the smell once the rain has stopped. Everything smells fresh and new.
Call me lame but who doesn’t love flowers in their home? They’re beautiful to look at and they bring a fresh fragrance in your home. There’s really not much more to love. During April and May particularly, I buy flowers more frequently.
I argue that the weather is perfect in spring because I can easily wear dresses and skirts, but I’m not sweating uncomfortably all day at work. Spring always offer the perfect “in-between” seasons weather. Not too hot, and not too cold. What more can you ask for?
April Fools Day:
Well, I don’t know about this one because I would be the person to fall for every prank on April Fools Day. But, sometimes it can be fun to make a joke here and there. I have always found that my father gets me with his April Fools jokes every year.
April birthdays are the best birthdays. Okay, so I might be a little biased, but I truly love celebrating my birthday during spring. It’s always nice enough to enjoy time outside, and spend time with friends and family. I turn 22 on the 18th, and I’m really looking forward to this birthday.
End of School:
Technically, school ends in May, but I am happy to say I’ll be done with school at the end of April this year. Even for college students, I feel like the majority of students are checked out by April. It’s nice when the end of the academic year and slowly wind down as you prepare for summer vacation.
I wouldn’t call myself a tree-hugger, but I do think educating myself on the environment is important considering all the damage due to deforestation, climate change, etc. So, I think we should all make it a mission to plant a tree, or spend part of the day living more “green.”
I always find that April is my most productive month in the early half of the year. I take advantage of my productivity because there are other months where I feel lazy. Also, this month will be insane with finishing my Master’s, moving and beginning my new job—so I’ll put my productivity to good use.
A Month To Reflect:
I think every month has an opportunity for reflection, but with it being my birth month—I find that I reflect far more around my birthday. It’s always good to look back on previous years to see what you have learned and how you can use it for a new chapter in life!
What are you looking forward to now that it’s April? Make sure to share your thoughts in the comments below!
